Lord Jesus, I come to You seeking the gift of temperance. In a world of extremes, You are my perfect model of self-restraint. Grant me the strength to govern my desires and passions, and keep them within honorable limits.

When I face temptation or feel overwhelmed by the urge to overindulge, be it in food, work, stress, or distraction, remind me of the grace of moderation. A Special Mother’s Day Prayer

Today, we would like to send up a special prayer for mother’s who have children that are no longer with them, for the runaways, for those that are missing, and those that are in the prison system.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, asking for Your comfort, strength, and peace to surround every mother carrying the pain of separation from her child. Lord, You know every tear that has fallen and every prayer that has been whispered in the night.

We pray for the children who have run away — that Your hand of protection would cover them wherever they are. Lead them away from danger and guide them back to safety, healing, and love.

We pray for those who are missing. Father, shine Your light into every dark place and bring answers, hope, and restoration to their families. Strengthen the hearts of mothers who wait and worry each day, and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted.

We also lift up those who are in the prison system. Lord, let Your mercy reach them even behind prison walls. Transform hearts, restore minds, and remind them that no one is beyond Your grace and redemption. Give their mothers comfort, courage, and faith to keep believing for better days ahead.

Father, help us to be a community of compassion, support, and prayer. Teach us to carry one another’s burdens and to trust in Your unfailing love. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Source of all eternal light and wisdom, I come before You seeking the clarity of truth in a world often shrouded in confusion, falsehoods, and half-truths. Lord, please shine Your divine light into the hidden places and bring what is disguised into the open. Grant me the discernment to recognize truth, and the courage to accept it, even when it is uncomfortable or challenges my own perceptions. "Amen" means "let it be." If you are ending a prayer with #amen, you are basically wishing that #god will do what you want.

If that's your idea of how prayer is supposed to work, you're doing it wrong.

God is supposed to know everything, and is not going to grant prayer wishes like a #genie in the sky. Prayer is supposed to help you, the one #praying, to deal with how the world *is* and to help you find the #strength within yourself to do your best at navigating it while living by whatever principles of caring for yourself, your family, your community, and your planet that your god has decreed.

A Palm Sunday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

On this Palm Sunday, we remember the day Your Son, Jesus Christ, entered Jerusalem in humility and peace, greeted with shouts of “Hosanna.” We lift our voices today in praise and adoration, welcoming Him into our hearts as our King and Savior.

Lord, just as the crowds laid down palm branches before Him, we lay down our burdens, our pride, and our fears at Your feet.
