These are pond slider turtles (Trachemys scripta). Notice that the turtle at the top of the log is moving down and the rest of the turtles are moving up. I watched this for a couple minutes. I wonder what's was going on. Does the turtle at the top just want to go down the log or is this a king of the hill sort of thing? If it just wanted to get back in the water, it would be a easy as falling off a log ;-). I have a photo where the top turtle meets the small one who turns to go down as well.
