There's a new bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent is the U.S.

But permanent Standard Time would be healthier and safer. If you don’t know where you fall on the issue, here’s a great link that lets you mess with stuff to inform some opinions. Your opinion may differ based on where you are N/S and at the edges of time zones and how much you value morning light vs evening light.

For me, I want evening light. Always. It is unacceptable to me to walk out of work at 5 and it’s dark. YMMV.

Unsure how/if the senate will act. I’m a strong supporter of permanent daylight saving.

Yes, I know we briefly tried it once and didn’t give it a chance before going back. Yes I’m aware of *all of the reasons* that permanent standard would be “better.”

And I don’t care. Diet Coke is “better” than the real stuff yet Coke remains champion: Prople want what they want.

Correction: #California approved the idea of #PermanentDST in a ballot measure in 2018, but the legislature failed to pass the needed legislation.

Big news in #Cascadia: #BritishColumbia will switch to permanent #DaylightSavingTime. Clocks will change for the last time on March 8 and then will not switch back to #StandardTime in the fall.

Note that #WashingtonState, #Oregon, and #California have all passed similar laws to switch to #PermanentDST, but are blocked by federal law.

My experiment to stay on Daylight Saving Time year-round worked extremely well, and I didn't have any sleep disruption. Maybe living in the center of a timezone at 45th parallel north makes it easier than other areas, but I'm all-in on permanent DST.

@User47 I suggest thinking about what #PermanentDST or #DitchDST mean at mid-winter and mid-summer. For the permanent camp, how would the later morning darkness work November-January? More the ditch camp, how would the earlier evening darkness work May-July?

Still mourning the loss of Daylight Saving Time, so I decided to make the first #pumpkin thing of the year.
I give you pumpkin coffee cake with maple syrup glaze. It's super fluffy and spicey and I put an irresponsible amount of oil and sour cream in it so it's also moist AF.
