  1. Patternuary 6 (2024): a hypnotic piano pattern with Mégra — a playful collision of code and melody. Is the string the pattern, the resulting Markov chain, or both? Short, puzzling, beautiful. Give it a listen and geek out! #Patternuary #Piano #Markov #GenerativeMusic #AlgorithmicMusic #CreativeCoding #MusicTheory #English

  2. #patternuary with #strudel, Jan 20:

    strudel.cc/?0ZZA4wXBAmcP

extruding graveyard low-pitched string sounds from a humble sine wave

  3. #patternuary with #strudel, Jan 19:

(experimented in nudel.cc first to complement what was already there, then copied over into a fresh window)

  4. #patternuary with #strudel, Jan 12

same as Jan 8, but with random switching between patterns to simulate a crude improvisation

note the use of chooseInWith instead of chooseCycles, which allows for switchovers at any time (up and down the list).

  5. #patternuary with #strudel, Jan 6:

(just added bassline to Pattern 2, a good starting point to play with the "fm" function)

  7. On the occasion of today's #release, here's a late #introduction ! This is the Mastodon account of the Mégra :megra_wavetable: language, a LISP-y DSL developed by @parkellipsen to make sound and music. It's built around Markov chains and notions of #smalldata . Also, it's a standalone program (implemented in Rust) that comes with its own editor and synthesizer/sampler.

I took this #patternuary as an opportunity to showcase some of its central features: pixelfed.de/c/6495503601336212

Version 0.0.12 has been released today!
