As predicted, I couldn't make one track per day, but at least it got me started to make *something*, and also a good opportunity for experimenting.
Here's a playlist of my three favourites. I'll eventually re-record and remix some parts to release them properly, but these raw versions are good enough for me to have listened to on repeat for days on end.

I went in an odd (for me) direction for #Jamuary 30th: a textural exploration of drones available in Ableton Live 12. I find it kind of soothing and might go back later to add some melodic material.

One more day! Is it cheating if your single instrument is a Digitakt? I limited myself to factory samples to keep it simple but there is still a lot the box can do. Forgot the compressor though!

Only two days left! My "Bach" motif for today is "s-k-e-w" (F#5-A#4-E4-A#5). Tried to play the instruments off each other a little bit and ended up with a positive sounding groove.

Well, #Jamuary is almost over, and I'm batting about 0.500 right now. Today, I went back to Tidal Cycles and started getting my head around writing melodic code. I notated a chord progression provided by my music instructor and improvised a couple of short melodies on top of it. Simple, fun, peaceful music!

JAMUARY 2025 Day 28 (moon)
I wasn't sure how to start a "moon jam" (NES DuckTales did it best) so I found an old recording from Library of Congress and started with some samples. Added breakbeat, trance plucks, and a little weirdness.

I threw this together last night. Very minimal. I want to do more with it, but I'll call it a jam for today.
The percussion is samples, the bass and vocal sound are synths. I don't know if I'll keep the vocal thing, but it was fun to program. -
And then there was #Jamuary 23, where I went back to Tidal Cycles and tried to learn chords and arpeggios in that live-music-coding environment. For a quick start, I pulled a card from the Troubadeck (https://troubadeck.com) and used its chord progression as the basis for this piece. It’s pretty repetitive, to be honest.

Missed a few days of #Jamuary due to family visits and work travel. On my flight back from Orange County, I used Ableton Note for the first (serious) time and composed this little quiet piece.
