  1. Hello friends! Does anyone know of a modern ATX PSU in this form factor? This little guy is 100mm W x 80mm H x 90mm D. It's from a Packard Bell Aloha small form factor desktop, and it has 20-pin ATX motherboard connector and two molex. It's rated for 106 watts. This one works, but is very stinky! Trying to find a replacement so I can enjoy the PC some more.
The Aloha is the same chassis as early 2000/late 90s NEC PowerMate desktops. #PC #computer #packardbell

  6. Ok I feel kind of embarrassed asking this but would anyone know where I am supposed to plug these to?

I accidentally knocked it when trying to fix the hard drive in my Packard Bell Club 533C and now it won’t boot. It’s model number is G5GV05 - M4X4 - GI1 but I can’t seem to find a manual.

Edit: So I managed to get it to work again as I found an old not so great quality picture I took a while ago.

The hard drive light still shows up as orange on the front of the case when it boots and doesn't output a display so I guess the hard drive is dead or something? Or at least it is failing to POST

  14. Oh yeah, a link to that aforementioned project: github.com/SuperIlu/DOStodon

I've got the lever issue bandaided for now, but it looks like the onboard video is toast. I can hear it cycling up and POSTing, but no error beeps, no display.

I seem to remember the video being iffy the last time this board was powered up. I'll clean up the board, re-seat connectors and modules, see if that changes it, but otherwise maybe looking for a new video card.

  19. The motherboard from my first machine, Jane 1.0. Purchased after I left Job Corp in June 1993 with the money I made from fighting fires with the Forest Service.

A Packard Bell I486 sx. with 4 meg of memory purchased from Service Merchandise. The math co-processor was purchased a few years ago. I was curious if one was out there. I kind of wish I had the whole machine.

Those with a keen eye can spot my shoddy solder work while attempting to replace a keyboard fuse.
