It’s mind blowing how consistently management at my job proves itself incompetent.

Oh? We have reps coming in to give out samples for a specific beer? Should we ensure that we actually have more than a few ounces worth of said beer? Nahhhh.

Turbo pet peeve at work is when a customer acts wayyy too familiar. It’s fine if I see you several times a week, or hell! Even once a week! Just some kind of regularity. But I *just* met this dude today and he’s all “where did ya go? I needed a drink and you’re on break!” Like dude idk you like that. Also he needed attention from either me or the other bartender constantly. We got other customers man, don’t worry I’ll be over to listen to your life story after I clear service bar.

It’s that wonderful time of night when there are most people who are starting their Sunday than people who are still up from Saturday. Grave shift really is something else lol

Just got done work and after tip out I’m walking with ~$130. My first thought was “oh man killer night!, best I’ve had in a while!” And then my second thought was how sad that < $150 is my current definition of a “killer night.” Oh well. It’s only for the summer and then we rebid our shifts

yes yes of course my grave shift last night when I didn’t bring a book it was dead. I prepared tonight, brought a book. And judging by the casino floor, it’s gonna be a busy night. (I don’t wanna get in the habit of complaint about being busy [i.e. making $$] at work, but I was looking forward to reading some Howard Zinn)

one of the worst parts of working in restaurants is having to always be socially available for customers. I’m having a VERY bad night emotionally so I texted my girlfriend, and she’s texting me comforting responses because she is amazing. I can feel my phone going off in my pocket, but I can’t read them because I have to pretend to care about where this couple is sending their kid to school. I *could* blow them off, but I’m broke (hence the bad feelings) so I have to “play the role” to get the best tip I can.

Made $35 total tonight. We need a goddamn union for servers and bartenders (and bus boys and cooks and…)

work is fucking dead. I’ve had literally two tables, haven’t even cleared $50 for the night. This is why I support tips AND a living wage for the service industry

Good news!: The Eagles are playing in the playoffs tonight! 😀
Bad news: I’ll be working 😢
Good news!: I work in a bar/restaurant/bowling alley that will have the game playing on like 20 TVs 🤩
Bad news: football fans are a goddamn nightmare 🥲
