  1. Uh-oh: I just got an email saying that @CenterforOpenScience will be phasing out the "project workflow" of the #OpenScienceFramework (it will remain as a site for planning #preregistration). Using this as a repository for files, code, results and tools has been a major part of my research workflow the last >12 years. This means I'll have to find replacement solutions, and make significant changes to my research workflows, collaboration, and teaching.

  2. Thanks to Lauren Chu, Josephine Cimino, Spencer Dana, Matthew Liu, Dasha Nesterova, and Amy Wolgin for contributing to this #research!

Stay tuned for next steps. Meanwhile, our poster (and other materials) are in a repository on the #OpenScienceFramework: osf.io/rxa2e/overview?view_onl

  3. Spotted over on Bluesky: Ven Popov's blog post "Open Science needs reliable infrastructure: A Postmortem on the OSF Redesign Incident"

After OSF's October 2025 redesign, eight years of DOI-linked preprints and materials were hidden by an automated spam flag. The post reflects on how it happened, how it was resolved, and what it reveals about maintaining trust in open science infrastructure.

  4. #OpenScienceFramework (OSF) est une plateforme en ligne gratuite et open source, conçue pour aider les chercheurs à partager ouvertement et de manière transparente leurs travaux, à tous les stades de la recherche.

  5. PSA to all OSF users

Occasionally, make sure that all of your projects that are meant to be public are indeed still public. OSF doesn't notify users when their content is marked as spam (& consequently made private). It can happen years since you originally posted it.

If your OSF content was marked as spam, go here: help.osf.io/article/411-spam-d

  6. I've put together a Word document with all the fields to be filled out in the #OSF #preregistration template. Our lab uses this document to plan our preregistrations. This allows us to collaborate online, suggest changes, comment, and see version history (the OSF webpage does not like simultaneous users).

  7. This is how I usually set up the beginning of my #knitr / #quarto scripts to download data from #osf that I then use for analysis in the rest of the script.

This way I only need to share the script, and anybody who wants to #reproduce the results will always get the right datafile.

Let me know if there is a better way to do this!

  8. Does anyone know if it's possible to get #verification ✅ of ones #OpenScienceFramework and/or #orcid account for the #metadata profile table?

    perhaps
