Why Is #Sex a Thing?
Why does sex exist? You might think the obvious answer is “ #reproduction” but there are plenty of organisms on #Earth that don’t require sex to #reproduce. And the more that #scientists examined sex, they more they realized that it’s an expensive and inefficient way to get your genes to the next generation. The scenarios work on my development machine with both Docker and Podman, across four major versions of the base container image of the operating system. That’s good enough for me, and it’s all committed to a source code repository so anyone else should be able to #reproduce it.

And finally the #concept is proven. I had to reimplement something that the #vendor did for us. And I had to flirt with the caustic waters of #jar #hell. But it’s in a state where someone could pick it up and run with it, and possibly even #reproduce it for some other application.
To evolve it to #minimumviableproduct that can be consumed by several dozen applications, we may need to factor out some of the foundational stuff so we can stay approximately #dry.
For now, #sabbath. Code later.

This is how I usually set up the beginning of my #knitr / #quarto scripts to download data from #osf that I then use for analysis in the rest of the script.
This way I only need to share the script, and anybody who wants to #reproduce the results will always get the right datafile.
Let me know if there is a better way to do this!
