The CSA owner said I could run with all the courgette (zucchini) blooms because he needed to clear the bed to make room for a new crop.

So fancy dinner at home today. Baby courgette with blooms stuffed with ricotta, sauteed onion & chili, salt, pepper, basil & egg.

Then roasted in the oven for 15 minutes until the stuffing was set and the courgettes tender.

@Sheep_Overboard If you're going to indulge in commercially made pumpernickel, you can't go too far wrong with the German Mestemacher brand but it is not the very simplest 3-ingredient traditional recipe. It is a bit softer than my crude peasant loaf. It has a natural sweetness and generally pretty nice. Pair with an Emmentaler, maasdam or other nutty note cheese and slightly salty ham. #omnomnom

You know about the Patty Wars?
40+ years ago, he Canadian government decided that "beef patties" could ONLY refer to the meat product used for hamburgers per the Meat Inspection Act, and that every place selling Jamaican patties needed to rebrand, ASAP, or face thousands of dollars in fines.

Let's just say: the government lost. Badly.
