I wish there was a better way to debug @obsidian plugins. Tried a few options last night to try and attach vscode to my obsidian instance with zero luck. Breakpoints never get hit. Setup source maps, ran obsidian in debug but nothing. I always need to try and put breakpoints on compiled code which is painful. 😞

Really bummed that the Blue Topaz theme for #ObsidanMD appears to be borked and no longer updated. Not 100% sure, since the documentation and issues on GitHub is 99.9% Chinese, but it seems like it'll continue to get more broken as Obsidian makes more updates unless someone takes it over.

I had it set up just the way I like it, and having a hard time deciding what theme to switch to.

I am a bit concerned about too many people relying on #ObsidanMD .

I can't quite say how they are going to fuck it up, but my lack of imagination doesn't mean that a company can't fuck it up.

Question for #obsidanMD #obsidan folks:
How do you organize locations?
- Each location to its own note, which is then cross-linked? So `department` would be linked to `company` which would be linked to the `city` where it is located.
- Hierarchy inside a few notes. This would look like `[[country#subregion#city#company#department]]`?
- Some completely different system?

That being said: I love @logseq so far. Much better suited to my way of working and thinking then what I used before (#obsidanMD)

I don’t like “second brain” either. I prefer “IDE for thinking,” which I believe was first coined by an #ObsidanMD dev or community member.

@perthdev how about #ObsidanMD? Uses markdown and stores files locally in case you wish to use another system later on. Since it is not specifically made for journaling there are many different ways to do it, along with plugins. What “quick capture” tools are you using to get stuff into #ObsidanMD ?

I use: iOS shortcut (essential for fleeting thoughts), a web clipper, Readwise/Reader highlights and browser extension.

Would like to retire the web clipper because it’s too noisy. Probably don’t need it due to Readwise Reader extension.
