  1. Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman – „Moneyball“ (2011)

  2. The baseball season is over and the Oakland Athletics are no more. They played their last home game on Thursday (a day game) and their last game of the season today (Sunday, as I write). For the next couple of seasons, they will just be the Athletics, no location designation.

I turned on the game on my phone just before the top of the 7th inning ended and so I […]

  3. It makes me so mad that they're moving the Oakland A's to Vegas. Fuck the fanbase that has supported the team and lined the owner's pockets for decades right?

That uniquely USian mentality of "It's not the fan's or the city's team, it's OUR team. We'll just get new fans (that we can then fuck over), or not, and we'll move again to where the money is".

Fuck the US "money uber alles" shit, the way they treat not only sports and fans, but culture and life in general is fuckin cancerous. Zero respect for anything not monetarily convenient.

  4. The Oakland Athletics bade an emotional farewell to their long-time home — and long-suffering fans — after beating the Texas Rangers in their final game at the Oakland Coliseum before leaving the Bay Area for good. japantimes.co.jp/sports/2024/0 #baseball #mlb #oaklandathletics

  5. Goodbye A's...you were last team I kind of cared about...that was a decade ago when you use to try to be competitive. I stopped watching all professional sports years ago, football was the easiest; after they black balled Kaepernick, I couldn't stomach sitting next to one of those shut up and play dick heads less I be confused for one...

  6. A final Ding! Ding! for Oakland Athletics fans. I've never been to Oakland, but my friend BART has told me how fun it was on game days. I'm so sorry for your loss. 😢

  7. I just saw a brilliant sign in the crowd at the #OaklandColiseum today for the final #OaklandAthletics #baseball game: "Today there is crying in baseball."

  8. Went to the #OaklandAthletics game last night. The Coliseum was rocking, with many chants of #SellTheTeam and a lot of love in the air. And sadness.

  9. Rage (2012)

Flashback to when Grant Balfour enters the October 2nd 2012 game vs. the Texas Rangers in the top of the 9th inning, hoping to save the game, and send the A's to a winner-take-all playoff game against these Rangers.

  10. I remember going to a playoff game back in the early 2000s, where the #OaklandAthletics lost to the #Yankees - it was a rollicking crowd and a wonderful game.

I was at the 20th win of the #TwentyGameWinStreak which was pretty incredible, the crowd, the noise, and how people stuck around to cheer through all the ups and downs of that game.

I was at the final game of the regular season in 2012, when the A's came back from a five-game deficit with nine to play, and on that final day they passed the #Rangers to win the division.

I was at the Opening Day game in 2015, when #SonnyGray gave up no hits until the 8th inning.

I was at the #SeanManaea no-hitter in 2018. That was pretty incredible.

I saw debuts for Manaea and #MattChapman and so many others.

I was at the #ProtestGame in 2023, and tomorrow one will be my only game for 2024. And my last.

  11. Tomorrow I am going to my final #OaklandAthletics game, ever. Not just for this year. The #baseball team I grew up watching with my dad is moving away due to the greed of the owner, #johnfisher

The ballpark is not in great shape, in fact it's a bit of a pit, but it's where I learned to keep score and learned to love baseball.

I've been to some pretty great games there, but I may never see another A's game. I'm certainly not traveling to Sacramento (their temporary home for the next few years) or Las Vegas to see them.

  12. It’s a sad moment in baseball today as we can all feel for A’s fans. It reminds all of us how little so many of our team’s owners really don’t care about the fans. We’ve seen it happen before and likely will again. #baseball #OaklandAthletics

  13. @MLB_News That's good for one reason only: I'm so tired of hearing the broadcasters say "Estuary" instead of "Esteury" #Baseball #OaklandAthletics #MLB
