"Burgess Creek runs from Noosa Junction to the beachfront. Burgess Creek runs 5 kilometres from heavily commercialised Noosa Junction to the otherwise idyllic beachfront, and contains signs warning against swimming and human consumption. Burgess Creek does contain treated sewage effluent. Signs indicate "creek water contains treated sewage effluent", but compounding issues include fertiliser run-off, historic landfill sites, erosion, invasive flora, animal excrement and household run-off."

City of Noosa, Queensland is installing a bicycle priority street to provide safe beach access. It's a 30km/h bidirectional single lane street with textured sides.
The bidirectional single lane helps reduce speed while the textured sides allow overtaking at slower speeds.
The textured sides can also not be confused for bike lanes (which often happens in these setups) because the texture would be uncomfortable and impractical to ride on.
Very interested in how this ends up working.
