The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:40 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Beaudesert and Kilcoy.

These thunderstorms are moving towards the north.

They are forecast to affect Canungra by 5:10 pm and Jimboomba, Harrisville and Peak Crossing by 5:40 pm.

Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely.

Significant rainfall observations:

Mt Stanley (near Kilcoy/Somerset Dam) recorded 55mm in 1 hour to 4:13 pm

Gregor Creek (near Kilcoy/Somerset Dam) recorded 55mm in 30 minutes to 4:30 pm
