A good high school & college friend closed on a house here 2-3 weeks ago and moved over the next week. We've had 2 dinners, part of trying to get time together before I move to Atlanta. We had plans last night. I found out early this afternoon that he had a stroke Wednesday night. #nolasky

I'm in that place with moving where I do things or go places and realize it's probably or definitely the last time I'll do it, at least for a few years. Today, that was voting for Jamie Davis in the primary, my last vote as a Louisiana resident. #nolasky Get out and vote if you haven't yet.

I wake up naturally w/ the light. We're in the time of year where that's starting to mean 5:30am. I don't know why, but I'm having so much more trouble with the heat this year than years past. Actually went "ugh" when I looked at my phone and saw 81 at 5:30. It's too hot for the pool even. #nolasky

I hadn't had Molly's pizza in a few weeks. This week's special is a vodka sauce with creole tomatoes on it. I picked up a slice for dinner. I also got a biscuit & dirty iced chai for breakfast. They serve that with whipped butter and a house made mixed berry jam.

It rained so hard the night a week or so ago that we had the tropical wavethat we had mud run off on the property. The last hurricane didn't even do that. It's been so dry since the mud has cracked. Then it rained a bit last night. #nolasky #photography

When I walked to yoga today, this was outside the door of Molly's. This evening I saw an Instagram notice from them that all four of the restaurants that Mason owns were closed today. Molly's and Turkey and the Wolf will be closed tomorrow. Clearly, someone has died. I have no idea who yet. #nolasky

I didn't have my phone with me because I was just taking my dog out to do his business, so no photo. I saw a very bright green anole on the wall just outside of my door a few minutes ago. That always makes me happy given how prominent the invasive brown ones have become. #nolasky

I don't have to ask if the tropical wave is here or not. I could hear it was raining outside, but it didn't sound that bad. When I took Jasper out for his final walk of the night, it was like nearly hurricane level rainfall without that level of wind, but it was still windy. #nolasky

Pet peeve: Boomer tourists who rearrange the tables to suit themselves. This group has pulled three tables and 8 chairs together. 90% chance they leave it like that and the staff will have to drag it all back later. Good thing the music is loud this morning. The dragging wasn't quiet. #nolasky
