Saw a new smoke plume last night on the Caja del Rio. Today it shows up as an unnamed hot spot near Cerro Pelado. I guess if they haven't named it, that means it's not a worrisomely big #fire?
On the other hand, the map has two other hotspots I didn't know about (haven't seen any smoke from them) up near Santa Fe Baldy, so that's bad.
The Mccauley Springs fire is apparently still at 0% containment after three days. Ouch.

There's a new #fire somewhere near Sierra de Los Piños. We could see the smoke plume from Cerro Grande today. The fire isn't showing up on any of the fire maps yet (they all seem to run as much as a day behind), so I'm not sure exactly where it is.

Yes, homes were lost but not all buildings inside the perimeter burned! Crews were doing structure protection. Also if a building had enough cleared area around it then maybe it survived.
