Snowstorm en-route for Eastern Newfoundland.. warnings are out. Per Windy: GFS currently sitting at 35cm, ECMWF 18cm, worryingly.. HRDPS is ... showing 50cm.
All show rain at the tail end, around 3pm. Regardless, we are going to get a lot of snow.

At 9:30pm, the airport weather station (#CYYT) recorded winds of 97 km/h, gusting 141 km/h.
Last report is still high, 86 gusting 117.
Neighbours fence might not survive the balance of the night. I tied off one of the posts to my deck, but with only paracord on hand I dunno if it will hold up.

Oh drat, with high winds across the island (#Newfoundland) shutting down ferries and stranding flights (including UA23, a 777 from Newark to Dublin which diverted to #YYT)...
A container ship, 'MSC Baltic III' (2500 TEU, ~200m), has grounded off Lark Harbour, just outside Corner Brook.
#CCG are responding, but this boat is probably there until weather improves.

#Newfoundland launches a new ’buy local' campaign, 'Buy From Newfoundland and Labrador' with a yellow logo.
I guess this takes over from the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters NL (CME-NL) 'Manufactured Right Here' program, which used to have little Nfld flag rondels everywhere but I guess it kaput now.
Nifty, but.. won't yellow blend in with the jam jam packaging?
