Not sure what took out the instance for a few minutes there, power is still on, but maybe there was something upstream with Telus that was hit.

@announcements I know you meant well, but that animation was really distracting & slowed down my browser. I had to dig in the Dev Tools to get rid of it. I also like being able to pick my own accent colour, thanks.

Update: #mstdnca is back online, but with high latency as the servers try to catch up on the backlog of queued jobs from 5 hour downtime.
Other server admin may see big batch requests.

For any Canadian Fedizens wondering why things got quiet, #mstdnca is down.
Not a power outage (or at least not a neighbourhood wide one), and also not the usual time-out server overload issues; it's not replying at all. So it's probably down until after day-job hours are over.

I'm now home, have eaten & had a nice cup of tea & ready to respond more on depth, now.First off, I'm going to give you some credit for actually responding to a few more loyal Chad fanboys/fangirls, honestly & openly. I respect transparency, a lot. I will take time to thank you, for responding with lack of transparency truths in your experience as past volunteer mod for #MstdnCA. You're one of very few who were brave enough to be open about massive & longtime lack of transparency with how Chad opted to run things. Most others are still cowardly about that, to this day.
Secondly. I don't know you. You don't know me. All we really know about each other, is what we personally choose to post in public. How we feel about what others share in public is personal. How I personally felt, reading your original posts & then reading all the replies to your post - absolutely enraged me & made the already awful PTSD triggers sound off even louder. I saw zero condemnations & too many of - we should just wait til courts decide. I saw too many white folks being OK with that pathological lying POS swatting me. They were more concerned about their instance going down. Your feeling of being attacked by me are nowhere even close to the traumas that Chad chose to enact on my family. Recognize the degrees & differences of real life harms & your personal feelings about me saying - "That's your friend!".
I have a LOT more to say. I've told everyone here that I'm doing another big thread on why how I was treated was wrong & how it's directly connected to why many POC women activists won't trust white folks.

Part of my thread that's coming later this week will also discuss how being treated like shit/being disbelieved here (after getting swatted by a pathological liar who owns a huge Canadian instance, with a lot of ignorant supporters who seem unaware or don't care that their guy swatted me) - severely triggered my PTSD on being disbelieved when I tried reporting being SAed as a teen. I was bullied & ostracized for trying to report SA. People believed the rapist & not me. It brought up the same angry, disappointed & people are fucked feelings.
I had almost left Mastodon completely, due to that.The Epstein Files triggered both of those hella horrible life memories, again. I'd never been swatted before Chad Ohman chose to send that racial violence to my home, shortly after my Dad died. That night was full of unnecessary police traumas too. I'm sick of people pretending to care & I find out they don't, when shit hits the fan.
I don't need fake support. I don't need cowardly folks. That shit ends up hurting me in the long run. I don't need any fucking devil's advocates either. Go hang out with Satan.

I also won't foolishly trust anyone who knows a scumbag has treated me or others in abusive ways but they still choose to support the lying abusers over us or chose to stay mutuals & stayed friendly towards someone who chose to use racial violence with cops on our home. I'm not as hard on folks who joined after 2023. I'm not as forgiving with folks who were around when Chad used racial police violence on me. Those folks who were around when it all went down, chose to defend/justify/support the lying perpetrator. Even though the wankerbutternoodle tried to throw other #MstdnCa members under the bus - he tried to blame other users for his abuses on me.

Supporters of lying scumbag wouldn't be so keen to defend him if what happened to the nonprofit suing the scumbag or what happened to me/my family with weaponizing police - happened to them. It's weak, cowardly & hypocrisy, in action, by almost all white folks.

I left that server months ago after the moderators (maybe the admin?) were making up rules that applied only to me.
Apparently they didn't like that I was reporting posts that violated their terms, but were not at all what they were thinking about when they wrote those terms. 😈 -
