Next upcoming toll is in the Bab el-Mandeb where the #Houthis and #Iranians will collect fees.

#Egyptian labor and treasure were used to build #Suez. Not a single rial, nor a single man-hour of Iranian labor was spent by #Iran to create Strait of #Hormuz.

#Iran cannot be allowed to get away with charging a toll on ANY shipping transiting #Hormuz.

An inconvenient truth. Under #JCPOA #Iran was given access to the money that it owned by selling its own oil, but was sitting frozen in Western banks. IT WAS NOT #US MONEY THAT WAS HANDED OVER TO #IRAN. #US did not earn that money.

Yes #Iran used that money to arm its proxies and carry out mayhem. BUT IT WAS #IRAN'S MONEY. NOT #US MONEY.

If #Iran or some elements in Iran are thinking that it can get away by levying a toll on shipping across Strait of #Hormuz then it can forget it. This is not 15th century middle east nor is this 19th century era of protection rackets.

#Iraq and #Saddam tried something similar in 1990s. Did not end well for him or for that regime.

Let us assume that negotiations are being held with an individual or group of individuals not linked to the Supreme leader #Mojtaba #Khameini. Let them not be sanctioned by #Mojtaba. But they still can take the agreed terms to him and to the president of #Iran for sign off. That should work and stop the #NeedlessWar that is #IranWar.

Peace is preferred in all circumstances. Peace should be given a chance. ☮️
