Finished cleaning up the cabling and getting the Beelink properly installed in the minirack. Overall, I miss the Pis because they looked pretty cool, but I'm not gonna complain: this looks pretty good as well.
The doggo wasn't quite as impressed.

My humble #homelab is complete (for tonight)
200mm Noctua exhaust fans are plugged into USB ports. Each cabinet has some open sophets at the toe area to let cooler air in.
Left cabinet houses a #geekpi #minirack. Three lenovo sff PCs run my proxmox cluster.
Right cabinet houses my networking, ups, NAS, and the TV stuff (Wii, #steamlink, Amazon tv).
Really happy how it all came out.

Small warning about the #DeskPi DC PDU. While this is a useful device, read the manual carefully. It can handle up to 8 Amp total, but only 3A per Output and has a significant voltage drop above that (fuse reacts at 5A).
I just accidentally ran my NAS with 10,3V on the 12V line because of that (PicoPSU) and it had interesting effects. #homelab #minirack -
Wooo, got the PiKVM on the OOB VLAN. That took way longer than it should've, but finally tracked down the small issue I had with the `systemd-network` files.

Started running some cables into the basement for the PiKVM. Got the network patch keystone installed in the patch panel, and ran the network connection along with the first two MS-A2 server HDMI cables. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on the third HDMI cable, all of the USB-A to C cables, and a few replacement cables for the PiKVM + KVM Switch. Things progress though...

Here is my new #minirack !
DeskPi RackMate T1, 2x GeeekPi 10 Inch 2U Rack Mount for Raspberry, MikroTik CSS610-8G-2S+in Network Switch, and DeskPi 7.84-inch Touch Screen.
4xpi5-8gb and 4xpi5 -6gb, 8 total nodes. There is also an additional pi4 running the display.
Running docker swarm with Portainer.
So far my stacks are: CoreDNS, traefik, tailscale, docker-registry, and nextjs dashboard for the display.

For those who would like to invest in a #DeskPi 10-inch #minirack popularised by @geerlingguy (for #SelfHosting or a #HomeLab, for example) BUT would absolutely like to avoid giving money to Jeff Bezos, #PiHut now proposes the reference ☝🤓

The goal was to have a nice "living room capable" 10" rack to hold my #homeasssitant box with a touch display for smart home control, a network switch and a UPS.
And no it is not living in the livingroom now, nor was it planned ;) I could have moved the network wiring to the back/inside, but in the end it needed a little nerd factor.Mostly made from laser cut plywood in #kumiko pattern that I spray painted black, and some 3D printed parts. All self designed/built except for the metal rails in the corners.

@geerlingguy sometimes forks are just too good opnsense vs pfsense is a good example, rsj should start wearing a shirt that says lucky. pls do followup on making minirack for specific use cases and matched up with the odd hw/sw req - add in a couple usb - one for dx and another for iso/backups #minirack blends #ci/cd #open source hw #object orientated #partimage #dd piped through gz
