I've just made a 1.20.1 Forge version of the Creston's UK City Pack on Modrinth. It's great to see that we can expand to new versions of the mod and hopefully we can port the mod over to other versions in the future.

CW: minecraft modding, transphobia
Crazy how most major #Minecraft modding-related projects had to be forked recently due to one of their maintainer’s “views”, always on the same topic
- We had PolyMC, we now have @PrismLauncher
- We had Fabric, we now have @quiltmc
- We had Forge and it was just freshly forked into NeoForge, 3 whole months after LexManos’ twitter likes have become known to the public.
In 100% of these cases, the shitty maintainers were described as “dictatorial” way before their shitty takes were made public. This actually says a lot about how big projects like these should be maintained (and how problematic people can be identified early).
Quilt has explicitly moved to a much more decentralized governance system. NeoForge was forced two days ago and has yet to settle on these decision, but wishes to do the same.

#minecraft #minecraftforge #modding I looked into adding reproducible builds to my MC mod after the latest news about how malware got distributed on CurseForge/Bukkit. Having reproducible builds should make it so much easier to ensure that the mod you get isn't tampered with (since everyone should have the same exact file for versions that were built with reproducible-build-support). I changed my `build.gradle` for the sake of reproducible builds, and for now it looks like it works properly (though I haven't done thorough testing, but it appears to work).
