Tre opere di Paul Cézanne, Pierre-Auguste Renoir e Henri Matisse, sottratte lo scorso marzo dalla Fondazione Magnani Rocca di Traversetolo, in provincia di Parma, sono state recuperate dai Carabinieri del Comando Provinciale di Parma e del Nucleo Tutela Patrimonio Culturale. I dipinti, appartenenti alla collezione privata della Fondazione, hanno un valore complessivo stimato in oltre 9 milioni di euro e saranno restituiti alla Fondazione al termine degli accertamenti previsti.
Le tre opere recuperate
Tra i dipinti recuperati figura “Tasse et plat de cerises” di Paul Cézanne, un’opera realizzata a matita e acquerello. La seconda opera è “Les Poissons” di Pierre-Auguste Renoir, dipinto a olio su tela. Completa il gruppo “Odalisque sur la terrasse” di Henri Matisse, un’acquatinta a colori su carta.
Le tre opere erano state sottratte nella notte tra il 22 e il 23 marzo dagli spazi della Fondazione Magnani Rocca. Le immagini registrate dalle telecamere di videosorveglianza hanno documentato le fasi del furto e sono state successivamente diffuse dai Carabinieri nell’ambito delle attività investigative.
Il recupero è arrivato al termine di articolate indagini condotte dall’Arma, coordinate dalla Procura della Repubblica di Parma. Gli accertamenti sulla vicenda sono tuttora in corso per ricostruire integralmente le circostanze del furto e del successivo ritrovamento delle opere.

Il valore delle opere e l’importanza del recupero
La restituzione dei tre dipinti rappresenta un intervento eccezionale per la tutela del patrimonio artistico. Le opere appartengono infatti alla collezione della Fondazione Magnani Rocca, istituzione che conserva a Mamiano di Traversetolo una raccolta di arte italiana ed europea comprendente opere di alcuni dei maggiori artisti tra Ottocento e Novecento.
«Desidero esprimere i miei ringraziamenti ai Carabinieri del Comando Tutela Patrimonio Culturale, al suo Comandante, Generale di Brigata Antonio Petti, e al Comando Provinciale Carabinieri di Parma per il recupero delle tre preziose opere di Cézanne, Renoir e Matisse, sottratte lo scorso marzo alla Fondazione Magnani Rocca», ha dichiarato il Ministro della Cultura Alessandro Giuli. Il ministro ha sottolineato il valore dell’operazione e il ruolo dell’Arma nella tutela dei beni culturali.
Soddisfazione è stata espressa anche dalla Sottosegretaria alla Cultura Lucia Borgonzoni, che ha rivolto un plauso ai Carabinieri, alla Fondazione Magnani Rocca e alla Procura di Parma per il lavoro svolto e per il coordinamento delle indagini.
Il furto ripreso dalle telecamere
Le telecamere di sorveglianza della Fondazione avevano registrato il furto avvenuto nella notte del 23 marzo. Le immagini sono state successivamente pubblicate sui canali social dei Carabinieri insieme alle informazioni relative alle tre opere sottratte.
Il materiale investigativo ha contribuito alle attività condotte dagli specialisti del Nucleo Tutela Patrimonio Culturale, reparto dell’Arma impegnato nel contrasto ai reati contro il patrimonio culturale e nel recupero dei beni artistici illecitamente sottratti.
I tre dipinti, una volta completate le procedure investigative e gli accertamenti necessari, potranno quindi tornare nella collezione della Fondazione Magnani Rocca, da cui erano stati sottratti pochi mesi fa.

Drove into The City again yesterday to see the #Matisse exhibit focused on his painting "Femme au Chapeau" . . .
Haven't been to SF MoMa or that part of town in years & it was worth the trip.

Afterward, my companion & I went to the restaurant #Fang around the corner but it was a disappointment & then went to #SF #Chinatown to give my companion a tour of some of the sites relevant to my family history & buy some #Cantonese style beef jerky (gnow yuk gon) & dried sausage (lop cherng) at a place on Clay called #Wycen (that makes them both just like it was made my family's (now defunct) Chinatown meat market) before heading home.
In contrast to last weekend, it was a GREAT trip!!! 😊
