I received this #magloop antenna today, allegedly rated for 20w transmit. After taking a peek inside, I think that rating is a bit too... generous.

#HamRadio friends, I can't find any printing on the caps themselves, but just based on their size, what do you think is an actually realistic safe transmitting limit for these little capacitors?

Speaking of 80m my frame antenna (mag loop) is close to being finished now. I need to increase the capacitor’s capacity a bit to get all the way down the band but the SWR looks good and I can transmit with full 100W as well. 😎

I'm enjoying determining the capabilities of my @Youkits #HB1B #qrpradio with my @AlphaAntenna #magloop. Nothing like a 5w #qrp #MorseCode rig on 20 meters during unstable #hfband conditions to test things out. #AmateurRadio #hamradio

@g7vkq Just a three-loop parallel array. G3JKF makes them carefully, with a career electronics background of decades behind him. That said, easy to make them, and they don't have to have his fanned design, a tough design for those not very good in soldering tubes (and probably offers no advantage). Below: 60-10m loop I had and a 15-10m version, without the fanning.

Very pleased to find my (GB1MUU) indoors, garage-based #magloop did marginally better in 24 hour unique WSPR spots than G3JKF's outdoor, three-loop magloop array yesterday, which is the magloop reference antenna anywhere in the world. And that was even when I hadn't become active until 10:10UT, and missed some long path!

Ham radio folks - anyone have any experience with any of the mag Loops being sold on Aliexpress? Generally about USD 100.00 plus or minus 20 bucks. Although there are a bunch of sellers, they all seem to be the same 2 or 3 loops. I am personally looking at some of the 20watt ones for portable ops with my #Lab599 #TX500. This this just for fun. I do understand the potential foibles of buying here.
If anyone has gone down this path - for good or ill, I'd love to hear from you.

I went by moonlight to change the lakeside vertical from 30m to 20m last night. Two curious eyes stared at me from the shore - an otter (known in Welsh as a 'ci dwr' - 'water dog' - a very apt name, given its powerful set of teeth) with a moorhen for its dinner! When I later checked on the garage #magloop performance at 30m, now taken off-air, I was amazed to see ZL on the WSPR (5W) spots map! #hamradio #amateurradio

Had a surprise 30m JT65A QSO with LA8BCA this morning. Just 5W into a 1m-per side magloop in the garage. I used to love JT65; I would always have sunset QSOs whilst cooking the kids' teatime after school. So leisurely and enjoyable. #digimodes #hamradio #magloop

Ha ha! Spare copper pipe loop experimentally thrown together this morning for 10m. First RX (FT8) was UA0BA. Later, VK6WB at -13dB. Not bad for a loop on the floor, indoors! #magloop #28MHz #hamradio
