I cut off 2 side shoots that had their own root system entangled with larger lavender root ball. Transplanted them into their own pots. Added some lavender cutting propagations into the pots too.
I also dug out a new artichoke side shoot & transplanted into its own pot.

On Tuesday, I lose my beloved #plum tree. 💔 I’m going to take some #cuttings even though it’s not ideal as it’s not winter yet. I still have to try for my very very sore heart.

I have sand, potting mix, perlite, rooting hormone… sharp shears. I’d like to try 4-6 cuttings since there’s no second chance. Does anyone have any suggestions? Cuts to make? Stripping bark off bottom?

I have a number of more focused special projects, including international work on Beech Leaf Disease (mostly collecting data and samples for other institutions and scouting new outbreaks), as well as #oak #phenology and rare plant #propagation.

We're all #Union workers! Outside of #horticulture and #ecology concerns, I am one of our #OSHA and #PESH health and safety trainers and a NYS First Responder.

I love how varied my work is, and how many thing I have the opportunity to study and work on!
