Microsoft is getting heat for AI push, Windows 11 users coin “Microslop”
While Microsoft was developing an AI assistant, it started with Bing Chat. It was decent at the time. Then, they rebranded Bing Chat to Copilot, and that was when they started integrating AI everywhere, including Paint, Notepad, and Windows 11. They also introduced a Copilot key on new computers and laptops, and several AI programs, such as Recall on Copilot+ PCs whose NPU is 40 TOPS or higher.
Social media sites like Reddit have started being flooded with “Microslop” comments under posts about Windows 11. Users were frustrated about how Microsoft was pushing Copilot, so they resorted to calling out the company with negative commentary, even after Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella told people to stop calling AI “slop.” For example, one user called out Nadella’s attempt to get people to stop:

Additionally, marketing images for “Microslop” surfaced on Reddit, and this one is from a user on the PC Master Race subreddit.

On the Chrome extension store, there is even an extension for Chrome and Chromium users that offered users to visually modify the website they’re currently in so that Microsoft gets replaced with “Microslop.” This extension says that it does not store and collect data; it just does the job. However, for the regular Google Chrome users on mobile, this extension won’t work because Google did not add extension support for their official mobile Chrome app yet.
Fortunately, bookmarklets work on mobile, so we’ve decided to develop this bookmarklet that does exactly the same thing as the Chrome extension. This does not modify download links and not the title; it just modifies the content shown and all the child elements.
To add this bookmarklet, follow these steps:
- On PC, press CTRL + D or CMD + D, or on mobile, press the star button twice in the address bar.
- Write the name of the bookmarklet, such as “Microslop”
- Enter the below URL

If you need to make a decision based on the contents of a document, read the damn thing yourself.
Copilot doesn’t know what words mean, just how to arrange them based on all the data its owner stole. Don’t rely on it for anything.
