As the 1st day of the 2-day meeting continued, fmr #CDC ofcls said they were shocked by #LynRedwood’s appointment. Redwood is scheduled to give a presentation Thurs on thimerosal, a preservative used in some #influenza #vaccines. The #AntiVaccine movement claims its presence is linked to #autism, a suggestion that has been repeatedly #debunked. Before the meeting, the CDC had posted a doc saying that thimerosal was safe. That doc has been taken down from the #ACIP website.

Before the meeting began, #CDC staff who work on #vaccine safety were informed that #RFKJr had appointed #LynRedwood, a fmr leader of the #AntiVaccine group *Children’s Health Defense* that Kennedy founded, to join the office, acc/to one federal #health official & 3 former health officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation [from the vengeful admin].
