  1. Letting my cherry tomatoes grow wild, they are carpeting the floor with delicious goodness. No pruning or trellising needed, they know what to do.

Originally from hardy volunteer cherry tomatoes from Ukraine, these are third generation in my Ontario food forest, that do well in no till polyculture settings.

All of this years seed comes from a single wildly successful plant from last year.
The second picture shows some that self trellised up some sunflower potatoes. And even survived some prodigeous pruning by the neighbours. Third photo shows ones that are self trellising up some sunflower potatoes.

All pretty amazing how in a relatively short period of time these cherry tomatoes managed to adapt from intensive management to a nearly wild way of being, while still being super productive. Been eating cherry tomatoes every day for weeks.

I may end up collecting some for seed and selling them on my Etsy store as cherry tomatoes hardy to zone 5, cause many volunteered this year as well, they are visible in the first picture.

  2. Sea lions are like the spiritually younger brothers of dolphins, a dolphin telepathed to me.
Also told be they use sonar so can easily and quickly find fish in an area. Sometimes the dolphins feed the sea lions, and thus keep them as pets.

  3. #lyis here is the burrow system of the Eastern Chipmunk. Making something like this artificially may be helpful in attracting small weasels like ermine that will be able to manage mice, rat and rabbit populations.
  4. Looks like potassium deficiency is setting in on some of the oaks, 2 of the several hundred I have anyhow. So next watering I'll do a potassium-phosphorous based one, perhaps with some micronutrients as well. Give the plants a breather from the nitrates, and let their roots grow stronger.

#lyis so I know it's possible to get magnesium ribbon tape.

So in alkaline-neutral soils can just put a strip of magnesium tape down in the planting hole so that it acts as anode for the tree seedlings as it grows.

Though if you have some alkaline loving plants can plant them near your graphite cathodes.

In acidic soils could put in a graphite rod, like pencil thickness in the planting hole. Then it would be more alkaline in the vicinity.
And can plant acid loving plants near the magnesium anodes.

So yeah if you have alkaline soil like we have in Grey-Bruce then you want a garde tools coated in anodic magnesium or zinc so that soil will be more acidic where you work.
Same if you have neutral soil, as optimal nutrient absorption is in soil of Ph 6.5.

Then you would bury cathodic graphite rods in the lanes between rows.

If you have acidic soil (Ph below 6.5), then you want your garden tools coated in cathodic gold or titanium, so the soil will be more alkaline where you work with it.

Then you would bury anodic magnesium ingots in the lanes between the rows.

  8. Reading "Fertile Earth" by Viktor Schauberger.

Apparently they did some studies and found that using copper gardening implements instead of steel increased yields by as much as 30%.

So I'm gonna electro copper plate my gardeninc shovel. Need copper sulphate, and a copper bar. Also need metal cleaning powder and nitrile gloves.

Here is a tutorial I found on YouTube:

  9. The Burr White Oak is still looking very similar to the Chestnut at this early phase of growth. You can see the Red Oak has red in its leaves which distinguishes it.
The Hazelnuts are really taking off. On Monday it will be time to fertilize the hazelnuts and the Burr Oak tray as they are getting mature enough. I'll be posting about what and how much when I do.

Willows also are best cloned it march. April seems a bit late. At least late april. I can try some certainly.

Wood transplants on leaf days or root days. Depends on if it is for soil regen or above ground matter.
