I guess my mental state at this point in my life could be described this way:
I have very little friends.
There are a lot of people who were very important to me but left me one way or another.
I miss them and wish I had friendships like that again.
I found self love, am content with myself and no longer feel like my mental health depends on former best friends.I was lonely when I had great friends but didn't love myself.

And what if I, myself, would have gone to the financial lucrative side, or try to avert a threat to me or family, and landed a backdooring PR? My reputation would have been burned forever I guess? So being a somewhat known figure at least raises the stakes for the perpetrators .... If an attacker is a lone wulf with no friends/audience it might be considered more dangerous for both the individual and those who depend on them This is by far not the only occasion were #lonelyness causes pain.

I feel like crap on a stick. My own fault, but still suffering. I even paid for the pleasure at a private hospital. I want to talk, but I hardly have the strength to breathe. This is when I feel the most lonely as a chronic pain sufferers, those days when you desperately need companionship, but can't handle it.
