Bummer. Wasn't picked to talk at #WCEU2026. I was really hoping to, I can't deny that.
I'm still convinced that by making digital solutions clean, efficient, open, honest, regenerative and resilient, we make them more relevant, user-friendly and inclusive. And less harmful.
If I still find the motivation to go. Will you meet me in Kraków? Let me buy you a beer?

Quick WordPress tip: If you want a "duotone" effect, don't be lazy and use the built-in CSS filters, but use the opportunity to actually save the image with a lower colour depth and file size. Speeds up your website and saves energy.
Try different file formats. PNG might actually be leaner than JPG.

Today I want to acknowledge and praise the Sustainable Web Manifesto for guiding me in a much kinder and enjoyable direction for my career and freelance business over the last three years.
Whenever I'm in doubt about a client request, I revisit the 6 simple principles. The constraints are good for me; they keep me on the right track.

Embedding videos on your WordPress website, while ensuring privacy, performance and with some level of sustainability considerations.
I'm drafting a blog post on the topic. Is that something you'd like me to finish? ⭐

Oh wow. This is really cool: https://w3c.github.io/sustyweb/
Thanks for sharing! From just skimming I saw already really nice stuff (Design Systems, Assets Handling...) and I'm really forward to go through this whole thing.
I'm sure, that at some point this will be the same with WCAG: It is expected to fulfill some kind of standard in your work in web industry. https://front-end.social/@SaraSoueidan/111035773023906082

💡 Curious to learn more about data centre sustainability from a world expert who knows how to keep the techy stuff accessible? Then join us online at Green Tech South West to hear from Professor Deborah Andrews on Thu 30 March, 12.30pm.
For a taster of what this event is going to be all about...
Transitioning from a linear to circular economy is a HUGE challenge, especially with regard to electrical and electronic equipment. The data centre industry is heavily reliant on such equipment but attention to sustainability typically focusses on energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
Deborah's project, CEDaCI (Circular Economy for the Data Centre Industry), was established to raise awareness about the (un)sustainability of current DCI business practices, and to demonstrate the potential for change and improving material resource efficiency.
Deborah’s talk will describe the overall project journey, achievements and challenges to date along with resources available for use RIGHT NOW! AMAZING! 💚
For more details and to RSVP to watch live or later, head to our meetup page: https://www.meetup.com/greentech-south-west/events/291072432/
