CHRONOLOGICAL SERIES REVISED EDITION
Low-tech Magazine’s original book series is available again. This revised edition of the original (2007-2021), “uncompressed” series is based on the edits made for the compressed edition (released in 2025). However, we increased the font and image sizes and returned to a one-column layout for improved reading comfort.
Volume I (2007-2012), Volume II (2012-2018) and Volume III (2018-2021) are now available in paperback and hardcover via our Lulu bookstore. Volume IV (2021-2025) is on the way.

The book design is a collaborative effort by Laia Comellas, @marieverdeil , and Johanna Gratzer. Marie Verdeil made the covers, Vaiva Vinskaite did the typesetting.

BRUSSELS — BOOK LAUNCH — 29.4.25
→ How to make books more sustainable? During this evening, Low-tech Magazine will present our "Compressed Book Edition", this time in Brussels, at Architecture Curating Practice's gallery.
→ Inspired by the image compression on its solar-powered website, Low-tech Magazine squeezed the article catalog of their three-volume chronological book series into just one book. Compressing the content — an editorial and design choice — produces a larger reduction in resource use than printing on recycled paper could ever do.

[E] The new #lulu - book has arrived.
[D] Das Buch von Lulu ist gerade eingetroffen:#KrisDeDecker #HeatingPeopleNotSpaces (2015)
"Most modern heating systems are primarily based on heating the air. This seems an obvious choice , but there are far worthier alternatives."

@vagrantc Another commment from the author #krisdedecker : There is another reason why the guide does not focus on li-ion. Lead-acid batteries are routinely recycled, li-ion batteries are not. They are also more risky than lead-acid batteries. You have heard the stories of electric scooters going up in flames for no reason: the same could happen to your solar system. Lead-acid is 150 years old and heavy, but for stationary uses they remain the best option, although I understand that people have a hard time swallowing that.
