Day 9 of #Arttrober is Sarah Kerrigan, from the Starcraft duology of videogames.

I was a fan of Starcraft (and the Warcraft RTS trilogy) back in the day, though I never played Starcraft 2. I understand Kerrigan went through some de-infestation and re-infestation, so I had a bit of a choice as to 'version' of her I could draw. I went for Primal Zerg (I think).

Maybe I should pick up Starcraft 2 sometime.

My resentment over Blizzard making Kerrigan weak is big enough that I wrote one of my very few pieces of fanfiction about her:

That is the end I would have liked to see. A truly strong #Kerrigan.

#Kerrigan in #Starcraft 1 was about the price she was willing to pay to reclaim her agency and pursue her goals, and about her ingenuity of playing more powerful people against each other to achieve not only her absolute freedom but also reach her own goals.

She actually accepts her fate as Zerg — and proceeds to take over the Zerg to follow *her* agency instead of the other way around.
