Somehow I managed to finish another October daily art challenge (#Arttrober) without suffering a breakdown. So as usual I'm compiling all my drawings into a single post.

The final day of #Arttrober is personal choice—so I've drawn the Nahobino from Shin Megami Tensei V.
I've only played the demo of SMT5, but I did like it. My familiarity with SMT is mainly through Persona, though I've encountered earlier SMT games through Let's Plays.
Anyway, I thought the androgynous protagonist was quite distinctive, and worth drawing. So I did!

Day 30 of #Arttrober is Regina from the Dino Crisis videogames.
I'm not terrifically skilled at drawing guns, not least because I don't know much about them, which leads to me sketching them out in a very 'approximate' way.
In any case, Dino Crisis is a game that has not occupied space in my mind in a very long time.

Day 28 of #Arttrober is Sirene from the manga Devilman.
A more monstrous character than most on the list. Devilman is another manga I know of but have not read or seen any anime adaptation of.
Phew... I'd forgotten how draining drawing every day for a month can be. My respect to those who do it all the time.

Day 27 of #Arttrober is Princess Daisy from various Super Mario games.
I'm not sure why I decided to draw her looking so very unimpressed with everything.
Hmm... I think I've probably spent more time watching other people playing various Mario games (World, Kart, Golf, Party...) than I've spent actually playing them myself.

Day 26 of #Arttrober is the Sorceress from the cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Though I recall watching a lot of He-Man as a child, I don't actually remember much about any of the characters other than Skeletor and He-Man himself. I don't recall the Sorceress at all.
I *do* remember the slightly weird 'Masters of the Universe' film from 1987.

Day 24 of #Arttrober is Ayane from the fighting game series and occasional volleyball simulator Dead or Alive.
I think Dead or Alive might be the major fighting game franchise I know least about, in comparison to the likes of Street Fighter, Tekken and Soul Calibur. In any case, I went for Ayane's 'classic' look for this prompt.

Day 21 of #Arttrober is Shinguji Sakura from the Sakura Wars videogames.
Sakura Wars is another videogame series that passed me by, I'm afraid, so I know almost nothing about it.
Nevertheless, I do quite like drawing characters in traditional Japanese garb, and I got to practice drawing a character in a dynamic pose, so it's all good.

Day 19 of #Arttrober is Reika, a character from the manga/anime Gantz.
I did watch some of the anime adaptation, but it didn't really appeal to me—at least not at the time.
I think I need to rethink how I draw glossy surfaces and fabrics. I'm never really satisfied with the result. I guess I should do more art study, and develop a new technique. When I have more time perhaps.

Day 18 of #Arttrober is Chun-Li, one of the fighters of the Street Fighter videogame franchise. Specifically, Chun-Li as depicted in the Street Fighter Alpha games.
Even I know Street Fighter! Though I haven't played any of the recent ones. Or any fighting games, really.
I had to work on this one while travelling today, so frankly I'm glad it didn't come out a complete mess.

Day 16 of #Arttrober is Guts, the protagonist of the manga Berserk.
I saw the first anime adaptation of Berserk many years ago, and later read most of the manga as was released then. I also watched the later anime series released in 2016. Things that stuck out: an evolving art-style, almost relentless grimness, Susumu Hirasawa's soundtrack.
I don't think I've quite captured Guts likeness here though.

Day 14 of #Arttrober is Jessica Rabbit from the film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?".
My memories of the film are a little murky, but I remember it fairly fondly. Certainly there have been very few films quite like it. Or maybe, with the prevalence of CGI, every film is now like it, in an odd kind of way.
I might have gone a little too far trying to make Jessica sparkle.

Day 12 of #Arttrober is Zero from the Mega Man videogames (specifically the X and Zero subseries).
I remember Zero from Mega Man X, where he rescues X in the prologue and generally acts like a cooler and haughtier version of X—but red and with a ponytail. There's probably more to his character than that. I only played a couple of Mega Man games, and wasn't especially good at them.

Day 9 of #Arttrober is Sarah Kerrigan, from the Starcraft duology of videogames.
I was a fan of Starcraft (and the Warcraft RTS trilogy) back in the day, though I never played Starcraft 2. I understand Kerrigan went through some de-infestation and re-infestation, so I had a bit of a choice as to 'version' of her I could draw. I went for Primal Zerg (I think).
Maybe I should pick up Starcraft 2 sometime.

Day 6 of #Arttrober is Terra Branford from Final Fantasy 6.
Man, I remember when I was really into Final Fantasy. The modern iterations of the series don't seem to do anything for me though. I did enjoy and recently finish Octopath Traveler, and maybe one day I'll try and get back into Bravely Default.

Day 13 of #Arttrober is Bulma from Dragonball.
Akira Toriyama's style is instantly recognisable, which poses a problem when drawing one of his characters—do I try to replicate his style or do it my way, even if the character then doesn't really look like the character?
In the end I chose to draw Bulma in her 'Wild Riders' outfit, even though she only wore it once on a cover of a volume of the manga. Oh well.

Day 12 of #Arttrober is Kitana from the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games.
I drew her in her Mortal Kombat 1 costume, as opposed to her costume in the first Mortal Kombat game (though to be fair I don't think she wasn't in the latter—I don't play many fighting games).
A difficult costume to draw in one day. The fan was tricky—I had to draw it 'flat' and then distort it to get it to look okay.

I don't really know anything about Valorant since I'm exclusively a singleplayer gamer.
Notice how I've strategically cropped out the right hand because I was struggling with it. The wind effect ended up a bit wonky. I probably should've added an outline. Oh well.

I missed yesterday's prompt, but I'm back for today's!
Did you know that X23 was originally introduced in the X-Men: Evolution TV show before being adapted into the comics? I didn't before doing research on her.
Considering it's not a particularly well-regarded show, her character is probably Evolution's biggest contribution to the franchise (apart from goth Rogue, whom I prefer over classic Rogue, btw).
I wish there were more media adaptations of X23 because she really seems like an interesting character that I wanna see more of (or maybe I should just start reading Western comics again).

10/13 Shouko Komi
I'm extremely late with this one. I finished the sketch last night, but I was too tired to complete it.
Komi-san was one of my favorite manga at one point. I really should pick it up again sometime. I need another romcom to fill the void of Kaguya-sama ending. Though, despite being a fan of Aoi Koga (who voiced both Kaguya and Komi), I wasn't really crazy about the anime adaptation of Komi-san.

A relatively simple character to draw, though I don't actually know anything about this manga beyond what I could infer from the title. So there's not so much for me to add here, except that we're now 42% of the way through this month of drawing (hooray).
