#TLRTuesday is back to a couple winters ago when my friend @aaronberjohn and I went around town on a dreary frigid day to make some portraits. I recently re-edited the photos now that I can process negatives a bit better and trying to follow @bosak's advice of finding the image in the shot, instead of just muted grays (thanks!), still learning and a ways to go.

This #TLRTuesday photo is from one of my first test rolls with the 90 year old Rolleiflex. I shot some challenging scenes with high dynamic range and opportunity for losing contrast with bright transitions.
The camera is an absolute champ, one of the lightest I own, and a great conversation starter (people are very interested and most want their photo taken after the chat). I need to be out and about with it more!(sorry for the re-post, had to change visibility)

Two different takes on #FensterFreitag from the test roll on the Rolleiflex a couple of years ago. I only processed one photo after developing and scanning to make sure the camera worked before heading out on a trip. It's fun to go back and look at photos you don't quite remember taking.

It was a cold gray day warmed by the wonderful company of the indomitable @aaronberjohn. Thanks for such a fun shoot and being so patient as I tried to figure out how to work the camera and then waiting almost a year.
Aaron is a dear old friend and an excellent human being but it's still intimidating shooting a professional actor, I mostly just shoot landscape.

Test scans with an improvised tripod + mirrorless camera + non-macro lens is still significantly better and faster (after all the initial faffing) than the flatbed scanner. I'm excited to get the rest of the kit sorted. Photos from my first test roll on the Rolleiflex.

In December, I was in New York and went on a pilgrimage to the B&H Photo Video store and it was... AWESOME!
I got to meet a lot of nice people and they were generous and excited to have their portraits taken. It was a wonderful afternoon, I picked up a bunch of film, got to check out printer paper in person, and geeked out about my 1935 Rolleiflex. 100% would recommend!

Shot two rolls of Arista EDU, 200 and 400 and I think I much prefer Kentmere but I can't describe why. This wasn't my best developing job but I had fun, trying to think of photos as pairs (practicing for a future half-frame? 🤔)

First roll with the Olympus 35 RC, a truly pocket-able full manual control range finder, and Kentmere 400 was a pretty good experience. I leaned towards the darker scenes to see how well the 2.8 lens and the 400 ISO combo works, and it's serviceable.
My brain is calibrated to ISO 100 from years of landscape tripod photography so trading stops of light is kind of a fun game.📷 #Olympus35RC

After getting the mirror replaced [1] and with all the wind in my sails, I shot another roll with the LM for #FP4Party. The viewing lens focus was tack sharp, whatever broke the mirror also caused misalignment between the taking and viewing lenses 😭. Please share any repair guides/suggestions.
I was pretty excited about some of the shots, pretend they're not blurry, ok?

Well it has been a bit of a misadventure between the mirror being cracked making composing difficult, not knowing how much to advance the film due to the non-resetting film counter, and not having a good way to scan, but an adventure nonetheless. Thanks for the motivation to try something new #FP4Party!
