This will be an interesting negative to try to print - keeping some semblance of tone in the sky while also getting nice crisp whites in the water at the lower half of the frame required some judicious use of adjustment brushes in Lightroom.
I hope it doesn't force me to go down the split-grade route... I hate split-grade printing.

Shortly after photographing this cart, a bloke popped out of the boat behind to talk excitedly about my camera, saying it reminded him of a Lubitel. Odd point of reference, but I'm here for it.
TLRs are great fun, but it's impossible to take one anywhere without getting into at least one conversation about them - they're far from subtle.
(For reference, he didn't even notice the Leica on my other shoulder.)

This assortment of chaos is alongside the Peak Forest canal. There's a few houses backing onto the canal, and most of them have made some sort of garden or decking area at the edge of the canal. Whoever owns this property apparently went for the "crazy murder shack" aesthetic instead of the "twee signs, benches, and plastic grass" one. I can't fault it, really.

I stumbled across this building en route to New Mills last weekend. The sheer drop down one side straight to the stream below really struck me; I think it's a house, and that must be an amazing place to live.
I'm not entirely happy with the contrast on this one. I think that's an artefact of my camera scanning workflow rather than the negative; tough to say until I get the negative under an enlarger.

If you ever get the chance to visit the old mill in New Mills (yes, I'm aware of how silly that sounds), do. It's a really impressive place.
There's also quite a cool pub just round the corner in a still-standing mill of similar age to this ruin (which is now a community hydro-electric facility). Well worth a visit.

Finally, some #MediumFormat negatives that aren't terrible.
I'm still struggling to get to grips with the "camera scanning" process; I'll be happier when the darkroom's fitted out and I can wet print these. Also, having used my internally flocked Yashica 24 for so long, I forgot how prone Yashica TLRs usually are to internal reflections - that's what's causing the "flare" in the top left. Maybe a job for the future.

I accidently double-exposed this shot (easy to do with a TLR), but rather than toss it out I decided to embrace it.
