Ekološka kriza uničuje celotne ekosisteme in sproža množična izumrtja, ki lahko postanejo največji tovrstni dogodki v zgodovini planeta. Posledično je vsako leto ubitih na desetine milijonov ljudi, in če stvari ne spremenimo, jih bo v naslednjih nekaj desetletjih umrlo na milijarde. 

Čeprav smo v zadnjih 15 letih po vsem svetu izkusili množične upore in radikalna družbena gibanja od spodaj, danes bistveno več ljudi ostaja potopljenih v obup in depresijo, kot pa jih je zavezanih revoluciji ali družbenim spremembam. 

Na vrhuncu naših uspehov smo pogosto zmedeno in nemočno opazovali, kako se številni tovariši in tovarišice, s katerimi smo si delili ulice in skupščine, zatekajo k avtoritarnim ali reformističnim strategijam. Pa čeprav so se te v preteklosti vedno končale s porazom in izdajo. Številni drugi so se od boja oddaljili, preveč izmučeni od slabo razrešenih konfliktov, egov, nevidnih in nikoli preizprašanih norm, ki favorizirajo vrednote srednjega razreda, ter pomanjkanjem skrbi v luči resnih zdravstvenih težav, travm in represije. 

V pogovornem večeru bomo odprli temeljna vprašanja organizacije, medgeneracijske kontinuitete in skupnostnih odnosov, ki nam lahko omogočijo gradnjo ekosistemov odpora. Ekosistemov, ki nam omogočajo podporo in spodbujajo efektivne strategije boja v času vse bolj nevarnih sistemskih prelomnic in ekoloških kriz.

Na dogodku bodo s knjigami prisotni tudi eni izmed Petrovih številnih založnikov, Active Distribution. Dogodek organizira SPA in bo nekadilski.

Cultivating an Ecosystem of Revolt amidst Ecological Collapse

A talk with Peter Gelderloos

The ecological crisis is destroying entire ecosystems and triggering what may become one of the largest mass extinction events in the planet’s history. As a result, tens of millions of humans are already being killed every year, and without a huge change billions of humans will die in the next few decades. 

Recently, we experienced 15 years of major revolts and radical movements around the world, yet far more people are immersed in despair and depression than in movements for revolution or social transformation.

At the height of our successes, many of us witnessed with confusion or powerlessness how so many of our comrades in the streets and in the assemblies turned towards authoritarian or reformist strategies that have always resulted in failure and betrayal when they were used in the past. Many others distanced themselves from the struggle, exhausted by the poorly handled conflicts, the egos, the invisibilized and unquestionable norms that favored middle class values, and the lack of care in the face of serious health problems, trauma, and repression.

This talk will look at fundamental questions of organization, intergenerational continuity, and communal relations to help us build ecosystems of revolt capable of supporting us and encouraging effective strategies for struggle in times of increasingly dangerous systemic upheaval and ecological crisis.

One of Peter's many publishers Active Distribution will have a selection of books at the event. Event is organized by SPA and will be a non-smoking event.

Ekološka kriza uničuje celotne ekosisteme in sproža množična izumrtja, ki lahko postanejo največji tovrstni dogodki v zgodovini planeta. Posledično je vsako leto ubitih na desetine milijonov ljudi, in če stvari ne spremenimo, jih bo v naslednjih nekaj desetletjih umrlo na milijarde. 

Čeprav smo v zadnjih 15 letih po vsem svetu izkusili množične upore in radikalna družbena gibanja od spodaj, danes bistveno več ljudi ostaja potopljenih v obup in depresijo, kot pa jih je zavezanih revoluciji ali družbenim spremembam. 

Na vrhuncu naših uspehov smo pogosto zmedeno in nemočno opazovali, kako se številni tovariši in tovarišice, s katerimi smo si delili ulice in skupščine, zatekajo k avtoritarnim ali reformističnim strategijam. Pa čeprav so se te v preteklosti vedno končale s porazom in izdajo. Številni drugi so se od boja oddaljili, preveč izmučeni od slabo razrešenih konfliktov, egov, nevidnih in nikoli preizprašanih norm, ki favorizirajo vrednote srednjega razreda, ter pomanjkanjem skrbi v luči resnih zdravstvenih težav, travm in represije. 

V pogovornem večeru bomo odprli temeljna vprašanja organizacije, medgeneracijske kontinuitete in skupnostnih odnosov, ki nam lahko omogočijo gradnjo ekosistemov odpora. Ekosistemov, ki nam omogočajo podporo in spodbujajo efektivne strategije boja v času vse bolj nevarnih sistemskih prelomnic in ekoloških kriz.

Na dogodku bodo s knjigami prisotni tudi eni izmed Petrovih številnih založnikov, Active Distribution. Dogodek organizira SPA in bo nekadilski.

Peter Gelderloos je tovariš v boju in avtor številnih knjig, med drugimi: Rešitve so že tu: strategije ekološke revoucije od spodaj; Kako nenasilje ščiti državo; Anarhija deluje; Poraz nenasilja in Čaščenje moči: anarhistični pogled na oblikovanje zgodnjih držav.

Cultivating an Ecosystem of Revolt amidst Ecological Collapse

A talk with Peter Gelderloos

The ecological crisis is destroying entire ecosystems and triggering what may become one of the largest mass extinction events in the planet’s history. As a result, tens of millions of humans are already being killed every year, and without a huge change billions of humans will die in the next few decades. 

Recently, we experienced 15 years of major revolts and radical movements around the world, yet far more people are immersed in despair and depression than in movements for revolution or social transformation.

At the height of our successes, many of us witnessed with confusion or powerlessness how so many of our comrades in the streets and in the assemblies turned towards authoritarian or reformist strategies that have always resulted in failure and betrayal when they were used in the past. Many others distanced themselves from the struggle, exhausted by the poorly handled conflicts, the egos, the invisibilized and unquestionable norms that favored middle class values, and the lack of care in the face of serious health problems, trauma, and repression.

This talk will look at fundamental questions of organization, intergenerational continuity, and communal relations to help us build ecosystems of revolt capable of supporting us and encouraging effective strategies for struggle in times of increasingly dangerous systemic upheaval and ecological crisis.

One of Peter's many publishers Active Distribution will have a selection of books at the event. Event is organized by SPA and will be a non-smoking event. 

Peter Gelderloos is a comrade and a writer. He is the author of The Solutions are Already Here: Strategies for Ecological Revolution from Below, How Nonviolence Protects the State, Anarchy Works, The Failure of Non-Violence, and Worshiping Power: An Anarchist View of Early State Formation.
