Peter Sellers was one of the finest actors there ever were. I had never realised as I don't enjoy the cringe comedy of Pink Panther or The Party. If only he had not been such a troubled person he would have left so many more classics to enjoy.

I am quite partial to the cherub faced Sellers of the 1950s and Goon period. Some nice person even put "Penny Point to Paradise" on the internet. Now I wish more than ever all Goon Shows had been televised. They were amazing.

Okay, so my favourite Goon is now Hercules Grytpype-Thynne. Brilliant name, wonderful intonation and the kind of villain I enjoy. Then it's Bluebottle and Eccles and of course Wallace Greenslade.

I remember hearing The Goon Show on the radio in the 80s. It was so much fun.

I recorded loads of episodes on cassette tape, then lent them to my English teacher. Never saw them again of course. Luckily they're online!
