I do recommend "Small prophets" (BBC). It builds its story and characters with time and respect. Also not only favourite actors in the cast but a lovely variey of people.

WTAF soll eine deutsche Ausgabe von "Ghosts"? Ich hielt schon die US-Version des liebenswürdigen britischen Originals für unnötig, aber muss man in Deutschland jetzt auch (wieder) aktuelle Serien neu auflegen?
Samma. Guckt die britische Serie, sie ist sehr gut. Dem Vernehmen nach ist die US-Netflix-Fassung auch nett.

Spoiler: it's not good though the performances of Shirley Henderson and Dougray Scott are really good. It's trivial, jazzed up to look more interesting than it is and *of course* there is quite some mystic babble about.
It's like a whodunnit where you have to guess the first five episodes who the actual victim is. Also I think I spotted some plot mistakes.3/10 cannot recommend #Summerwater

Schnellstes Einrichten des Zoom-Calls oder Buchen des Besprechungsraums? Zahl der Phrasen, die man in 1 Minute abspulen kann? Oder doch das Curling des Kollegys auf dem Drehstuhl entlang des Büroflurs?
(Ja, immer noch die Tram-WM, aber es ist wirklich sehr befriedigend).

I hope the new Mitchell New Webb series will be fun.
Looking very much foward to see Reece Shearsmith at Task Master. What a line up for the new season. I don't know how they do it to keep bringing exciting contestants. German TV would have run out of funny people by series three (Generous guess. It's not we don't have funny and interesting people. They just don't make it to TV a lot).

Ich möchte etwas mega wholesomes gucken. Dabei bin ich mit All Creatures schon durch, zumindest mit den ersten drei Staffeln. Die darauf folgenden Specials, in denen die "richtige" Helen noch mitspielen, sind nicht im Box Set 😭😭😭
Mit der zweiten Helen und dem Sprung zu James und Helen mit zwei Kindern komme ich nicht mit. Da tröstet auch der sehr attraktive Callum nicht.

Just watched Sophia Coppola's "Priscilla". I read good things about it. The most boring film I have seen in some time. Dull, foreseeable.
Elordi's speaking voice is very close to that of Elvis. That's where the resemblance ends. Without the beauty and charisma of young Elvis, it is hard to grasp what made him a superstar. Elordi doesn't even match fat Elvis.
So it's basically a coming of age story under circumanstances that magnify the power imbalance.
Very disappointing. -
Den einzigen Teil,den ich erklären kann: die Kuchen: ich schaue gerade Bake off Stand up to Cancer.
Ich wollte nur die Folge mit Joe Lycett sehen, dann habe ich noch ein paar Folgen mit Leuten gesehen, die ich mag, und jetzt schaue ich auch alle anderen.
Es ist so ein freundliches und wohlwollendes Format. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass es mit Sandi Toksvig am allerbesten ist 😁

Was in der ARD-Mediathek fehlt: das automatische Starten der nächsten Folge. Am Ende der Folge ist dann automatisch Schluss und man muss die nächste starten. Wenn man das auf einem "smarten TV" schaut, läuft dann der Ton des Fernsehprogramms. Und das kann ja nun keiner wollen 😳

I have just finished watching "Hamish MacBeth". It is one of the most delightful programmes I have ever seen. It's thirty years old and apart from some looks you'd never guess. Also so many scottish actors and landscapes it's a joy to behold.

It's worth it for a glimpse into a future that is remarkably similiar to the one we are going through now. There is a character exellently played by #PeterSellers that resembles the Orange Pest. It's remarkable.

Nette Unterhaltung ist übrigens die britische Serie "Ludwig". Stellt Euch das wie Monk auf britisch vor: Krimi, aber nicht brutal, mit einem Ermittler mit Eigenheiten.
Tolle Schauspieler, fantastisches Setdesign und Farbkonzept, aber am allerallerbesten ist der Soundtrack. Der kommt nämlich von #Beethoven
selbst, den ich über alles liebe.Wie Schröder sagen würde; noch 7 Tage bis Beethovens Geburtstag!

Mittlerweile kaufe ich, wenn ich wirklich mal etwas haben will, lieber bei Rebuy. Die Auswahl ist kleiner, aber der Service ist besser und ihre Etiketten lassen sich ohne Aufwand gut entfernen. Beides kann ich von MedimopsMomox nicht behaupten.
Also, natürlich könnte ich es behaupten, es entspräche aber nicht meinen Erfahrungen.

I have watched it quite a few times and it still makes me laugh.
I could really do with some funny programmes now, preferably British.

Wir unterbrechen den Rerun von House MD nach Staffel 7. Staffel 7 hat ein paar überragende Folgen, aber so sehr ich House mag, so sehr mutiert er zum Kotzbrocken. Das muss der Grund sein, warum Staffel 7 noch originalverpackt war und ich Staffel 8 nie gekauft habe. Ich stelle oft beim Rerun fest, dass ich Lücken in Reihen haben. Aber ich ziehe das jetzt durch.

Ich glaube, mir fehlt einfach die nötige sittliche Reife. Ich denke die ganze Zeit "Schweine... im Weltall!!"
Und ich frage mich, ob sich die Darsteller*innen nicht auch die halbe Zeit albern fühlen. Es ist gerade wie ein langatmig Videospiel, in dem man auf die Sequenzen null Einfluss hat.

@DoctorMonkey2 Wow! Fire walk with me werde ich mir wohl sparen, das ist ja dann wieder Laura Palmer, von der wir ja mittlerweile vollkommen entfernt sind.
Aber die dritte Staffel gebe ich mir vielleicht. Psychedelisch würde ich noch mitgehen, aber dieses seifenopernartige macht mich fertig.
(Was ist eigentlich aus "Invitation to Love" geworden?)

JFC Twin Peaks ist eine unfassbar öde Seifenoper. Glaub nicht, dass das damals irgendwie besser war.
Die Dialoge sind lachhaft.
Ich frage mich selbst, warum ich das durchziehe. Eigentlich nur, weil es abgesehen von der Brutalität so dahinplätschert und mich nicht weiter fordert.

Die zweite Staffel von Twin Peaks ist ganz schön brutal.
Aber hey, David Lynch hat eine Rolle als Comic Relief und Miguel Ferrer ist zurück als Albert Rosenfeld \o/
