Peeps in #Australia. Are there any realtime or up to date latency benchmarks for internet connections, particularly #nbn #FTTN and #FTTP?

Alternatively what kind of latency are you getting and what #ISP and connection type are you connected to?

Right, now the #NBN modem has its own #UPS so even if the power goes out and the local #FTTN node dies, at least my local network won't have issues. And as a bonus, TWO alarms during a power failure.

#FTTN service goes down at 2230 last night, and thanks - in part to a state public holiday - it won’t be fixed until tomorrow. 😣

My poor little FTTN connection got hammered this morning when someone with a decent number of followers boosted a couple of my posts with photos. I only have about 1.5mbps upstream bandwidth available, and this was getting used up for the better part of an hour by other instances polling mine for the photos. My ping was in the region of 2300ms. I did not foresee this as being a problem, and I probably should have.

Quality install, NBN. To fit new fibre Maddison box, unscrew old box from wall, expose the cavity to the wall, leave the old box unlocked, and the new one, and don’t even put the fibre guard in place *sigh*

Hope it survives 3 weeks to internal Install works.
