A full week of #NBNCo "planned maintenance"
How I'm supposed to work during this time is anyone's guess.

Two hours of unplanned #NBNCo outage so far today.
Oh, and a planned outage all day tomorrow. That's in addition to the all-day planned outage they had on Monday.
And not forgetting the FULL WEEK planned outage starting next Thursday.
What is it that I'm actually paying for?

So, #NBNCo "planned maintenance":
30 June 7am-3pm - unable to work for most of the day
4 July 7am - 3pm - not working, but unable to access internet for most of the day
10 July - 16 July (yes, a full week) 7am to 7pm - won't be able to work for several days and unable to access internet for most of the day for 7 days.
What is going on with #NBNCo to require THIS MUCH maintenance?

So, apparently....
NBNCo planned maintenance in your area will occur between 7AM - 7PM from 10/07/25 to 16/07/25.
That's 12 hours per DAY for 7 days.
How am I meant to work during this full week of no internet?
Of course, you can't contact #NBNCo you have to contact your provider, who tell you it's not their issue, it's....yes, well.
I don't have a work phone so I won't hotspot from my personal phone as I don't have a large data plan.
It's twenty fcken twenty five & we have this shite.

I got Fibre Internet today, only took like 20 years of being stuck on below 30 Mbps download speeds before they deemed us worthy of an upgrade. 😅
Those who know me or have been following me for long enough know how much I've complained over the years.

My client got a letter stating #nbnco must inspect inside his premises for a fault they detected.
They listed a phone number to call to arrange a time.
The phone number they list is not published on their website anywhere.
So assuming it's legit, how can one tell it's really NBN and not a cunning home invasion plan?
-
NBNCO doing their old trick of put a note in your letterbox saying "there will be work in your area" and then breaking your internet the next day and leaving you with no connection while you can see 1 random tech wandering up and down the street.
No outage alert from anyone. -
Status update: 25% through the 4 hour time window where an #NBNco technician may or may not appear
I'm realising now that recent hydration was a mistake, and that I cannot allow bodily functions to interfere with my vigil over the front door

Post one of two
The bane of my Ham radio existence the damn #NCD used by #Australias #NBNCO. For me it used to cause #VDSL2 interference on 40m/80m bands. Anyway here is some images of the internals, which turn out to be produced by #NetCommWireless
This unit used to add good solid two S points of digital mess on the above bands.

EDIT: fixed typo on image captions

@phocks
We'll never forget a telco saying, we just on-sell the data packages the govt (#nbnCo if we remember) sell to us wholesale.Horray, corporate capture of #naturalMonopolies!
-
Funny how if you submit a formal complaint with your ISP against #NBNco they suddenly fix all the problems you've been having with your internet for 10+ years and you get faster speeds than you've ever had.
-
Welp #nbnco contractor came, did a bunch of tests and then left without fixing anything or saying anything to us and we didn't see him again.
Aussie Broadband has had to reject the resolution and add a note to the fault on the nbnco portal.
So onto day 5 of basically having no internet. -
You know something if very broken when your 4G internet connection is better than your VDSL2 #NBNco landline connection 😂
-
Utterly useless #nbnco so a fault on your end is going to take you until at least 4 days from now to bother to send someone out to investigate.
-
Looks like #nbnco has decided we get low sync speeds and constant drop outs today!
\o/
It's just stuck in a loop of connecting, connected, disconnected, trying to connect as far as I can tell. 🙄 -
I’ve never really given #Starlink much thought, but having used the #NBN for several years now, with never-ending downtime and intermittent speed issues, I feel like maybe it’s time to seriously look into the feasibility of this (once it’s available in my area, which is *supposedly* happening this year)… At AU$130 / month, the NBN is awfully hard to justify, given the quality of the network. | #broadband #AussieBroadband #Australia #GoldCoast #NBNCo

Ah… Another day, another #NBN #outage. Looks like it’s affecting “The Big Three” capitals and their surrounding areas, too. Remind me again how it is even legal that critical infrastructure - like a national #broadband network - is allowed to have a complete failure every other night and / or every time there’s a tiny bit of bad weather? Could you imagine the repercussions for their garbage network, if #NBNCo had to answer to shareholders, instead of the #Australian tax-payer? | #Australia
-
Oh wonderful, my #NBN is down again… Thank goodness #Australian tax payers paid *tens* of billions of dollars for a world-class, “next generation” *cough cough* bullshit *cough cough* #broadband network! Thankfully, my #Vodafone #5G connection is alive and well - which is a connection that hasn’t failed me in several years, I might add. | #NBNCo #Australia #mobiledata

@projectgus You’re getting #fiber ? I live on the Gold Coast and not does our area not have #fibre , but it’s apparently not expected to get it in the foreseeable future… Also, I wouldn’t get too excited - the only good thing I can say about the #NBN since they “upgraded” us is that I can use somebody other than #Telstra as an #ISP. There is quite literally nothing else positive I can say about the slow and unreliable #broadband network known as the NBN. #GoldCoast #Australia #NBNCo
