Spring-cleaning at @Wintermute_BBS continues!
I've replaced the rather dull #ANSI menus I once designed in a hurry and without any creative idea (I never liked those) with some "new old stock".
See, there were several ANSI screens I had designed many years ago but for various reasons did not put into use even though I liked the way they turned out (mind you, I'm not a real ANSI artist)
So now I put some effort into making them fit with #MBSEBBS so that you people can enjoy them.
The screenshot of the message area menu is a just a little teaser, there are many more screens but I'm not going to spoil the fun ...
... and of course, I've preserved the iconic "red pin" ...

I posted some Ciphertext to the FSX_CRY (CRY is for Cryptography) Echomail area on fsxNet a week ago and nobody has even replied. 😿 I was hoping someone would try to figure out what it said, but maybe that was just way too random a place to post. (It seemed like the cryptography area hadn't had any posts in at least a few months.) just finished writing ibbs-extract3, which is part 2 of my wwiv5ibbslastcaller package. xwibbslastcaller.py was part 1.
xwibbslastcaller.py handles posting a rot47 encoded message with basic caller info on logon to a networked sub.
ibbs-extract3 reads data from networked subs of rot47 encoded messages and generates a laston.txt file for each network.

i run a #WWIV #BBS using modified/patched sources of the https://github.com/wwivbbs/wwiv project. my BBS is named Aliens' Alcove/Abode and is part of #WWIVnet, #FidoNet and #fsxNet. it is accessible via the web here http://aliens.ph, via "telnet aliens.ph" or by using a terminal program.

Hi! Some words about me: I'm into retrocomputing (#RC2014, CP/M, Amiga, Commodore, Novell NetWare) and run a BBS (Imzadi Box - box.imzadi.de; #FidoNet, #fsxNet etc.).
Besides, I prefer Linux and Free Software and selfhost many services (but not Mastodon).
