Very cool - FlexRadio 800 series (and Aurora) now support installing and running the #freedv waveform on-device.

I never expected to be able to run a container directly on my #flexradio. Doesn't look like Marcus #smartsdr supports this yet but can't imagine it'll be far behind.

Vibes from the #Disobey Nordic Security Event in Helsinki last weekend where we were promoting #hamradio at the Finnish #AmateurRadio League SRAL booth.

Live RF demos (DVB-S transmissions, modified Vaisala RS41 radiosondes, remote #FlexRadio station and custom SDR transceivers) + 1/4-wavelength antenna workshop kept visitors busy!

dude, I just figured out how to add support for FREEDV2 on Flex using JJ Flex. It will be accessible, will install the freedv2 system onto your pi, and activate then use the node. #hamradio #flexradio O

Любительская КВ-радиосвязь — прекрасное, но дорогое хобби. Причем порог входа сейчас не слишком велик: можно дешево купить б/у трансивер, а антенну сделать буквально из кусков провода и старой удочки. Но уже после первой сотни стран и получения наград вроде DXCC начинаешь упираться в тот самый предел, который значительно разделяет мир самодельного и коммерческого оборудования. Внезапно оказывается, что для успешной «охоты» за редкими странами нужен не только хороший трансивер и антенна — требуется удобное рабочее место, позволяющее быстро настроиться на частоту, не упуская из поля зрения остальные. Тут сразу возникает дилемма: железо достаточно громоздкое, а место на столе не бесконечное. Отчасти это можно решить с помощью внешнего контроллера. Один из таких — WoodBoxRadio Tmate2 — недавно оказался на моем рабочем столе, и сегодня я про него расскажу.

I’ve been attempting to get the #freedv AppImage for #flexradio running on the RPi4 I use as my Allstar Node. I couldn’t get it to decode.

Managed to get it running on my #uconsole and received ON4LX operating on #qo100.

Spoiler: there is a firewall on the Allstar Node.

@ian I think #spothole may be able to simplify the #nodered flow I use for my #flexradio setup. #smartsdr (Mac/iOS) does offer POTA and DX cluster spots but I have a nice setup which colours them.

Currently grabbing feeds, de-duping them and then posting. Will report back!

Always wanted to build a TeensyMaestro for my #flexradio and the new board by Simon, N0VE (and firmware updates by Len KD0RC) made it much easier to do.

I designed a case for it which includes holes for a VESA compatible mount.

Really enjoyed the build (yes, even including installing the 63 caps!).

As I was buying the boards and components I ordered a few more and made a kit available on my shop (https://shop.g7ufo.radio/collections/teensymaestro). There are still a few available if anyone is interested.

Just arrived! The @n6ara TinyMIDI https://n6ara.com/product/n6ara-tinymidi/ will be using this for impromptu #cw practice (and eventually QSOs on my #flexradio.
