I really liked the idea of #flattr.
I have a budget set aside to pay for 'things I like in the world' and use it mostly to pay for, or sponsor, #FOSS software and art/creators, but there are a couple things I dislike about the way I spend it.
1) Payments are fragmented over sites/services.
2) I can't give something to every project I like.I liked the idea to pool all my money with others and give everyone a slice.

und: die „stille Kaffee-Kasse“ wurde wohl kaum genutzt, weil Micro-Payments zu aufwändig, smarte Services wie #Flattr ungenutzt?
Dann wurde es hipp ein „passives Einkommen“ zu generieren - Geld fürs Nichtstun
Als Social Media dann Liken und Kommentieren „easy“ gemacht haben… in Blogs immer noch Aufwand, den kaum jemand betreibt (Login für ein Like…) Blog-Innovation ist vor 20 Jahren stehen geblieben und KI gibt den Rest, keiner muss mehr klicken… -

Für ein kleines Projekt, welches ich derzeit entwickle und das dann auch nicht-kommerziell, kostenlos und unter einer CC BY-SA Lizenz veröffentlichen werde, suche ich nach einer einfachen und ethisch vertretbaren Möglichkeit, einmalige #Spenden entgegenzunehmen (um Hosting etc. in Teilen zu decken).
Also gewissermassen eine #kofi Alternative, die ähnlich sympathisch ist wie #Liberapay – aber eben einmalige Zahlungen ermöglicht. Memberships brauche ich auch nicht. #Flattr gibt es ja nicht mehr und #PayPal will ich nicht.
Empfehlungen, die sich evtl. sog. primär an den D-A-CH-Raum wenden, nehme ich gerne entgegen. Danke!

Has anybody noticed that the #micropayment service #Flattr was shut down in January? Not me! I had a Flattr button on my first, self-programmed website. But as far as I remember I never received a donation via this system. Also #Kachingle, which was absolutely unknown in Germany, seems to have disappeared. #webdev

Kennt noch jemand #Flattr? Das war ein Micropayment-Dienst, bei dem man einen frei wählbaren Betrag einzahlen konnte. Der Betrag wurde dann verhältnismäßig je nach der Anzahl Klicks bei gewünschten "Anbietern" (Blogs o.ä.) aufgeteilt. (Also wenn ich 2 EUR eingezahlt habe, und 10 mal auf Blog A, 5 mal auf Blog B geklickt habe, hat A 1,33 € erhalten und B 0,67 EUR).
Ich habe gerade die Idee, dass das doch gut in Favs/Retweets von #Mastodon eingebaut werden könnte.
Meinungen?

It looks to me like #micropayments are dead. I've seen multiple companies folding (eg. Flattr, which folded in Nov 2023).
I was thinking about it for my blogs, but now...

So, #Flattr is closing up on Dec 31. I'm quite sad to see them go. I really liked their philosophy, and the fact that they were one of the first in this space. I particularly enjoyed the model of a flat fee, which is invaluable to me as someone with not a lot of disposable income but a desire to contribute to multiple causes. I thought I'd share a link to the excellent Sustainable Crowdfunding Open Call (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1-3AYgZRFQ) from over a decade ago (!) So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Stelle fest, dass es #Flattr noch gibt (aber nicht mehr lange, weil sie jetzt zumachen), dass da noch Geld für mich ist, das ich aber nur kriegen könnte, wenn ich einen fotografierten Ausweis von mir irgendwo hochlade.

Ich würde gerne #OpenSource Projekte systematisch finanziell unterstützen. Leider scheinen die Wege dafür von Projekt zu Projekt unterschiedlich zu sein, siehe #liberapay , #flattr , #paypal ... Wie macht ihr das, was sind eure Erfahrungen dazu?

The idea behind #Flattr seems pretty cool. Much better than #Paypal and #Patreon tbh. How come it or something similar didn't become as mainstream as Patreon?
I've been thinking of integrating payments into package managers and to Musarella's protocol (whenever I finish that) and Flattr's design is very close to what I was thinking of. It's also something I'd prefer to use over Patreon and I think it's a better fit for other financially broke people as well. -
