Has anybody noticed that the #micropayment service #Flattr was shut down in January? Not me! I had a Flattr button on my first, self-programmed website. But as far as I remember I never received a donation via this system. Also #Kachingle, which was absolutely unknown in Germany, seems to have disappeared. #webdev

@funcrunch @medium @coachtony I still think that #Flattr, #Kachingle, #PayPal, #Patreon or just selling good work directly without #DRM (just let me pay via #SMS) is way more convenient.

@valkyrie Exactly the same as with #BigMedia which out of snobbish Elitism rather wants to #Paywall shit with asshole-level #Subscriptions rather than improve content quality and switch to #Patreon, #Flattr, #Kachingle or even single-article purchases...

One thing we've to also account for is that #TwitterBlue and #TwitterGold are the only ways to get #API restrictions lifted, and I'm quite convinced major news outlets like @heiseonline or @ntv got those #GoldBadges for free as they would've likely threatened to quit #Twitter if they can't continue to use their toolchain to post stuff...

besonders wichtig sind Werkzeuge wie https://12ft.io/ für jene ewiggestrigen Medien die sich verweigern #Patreon, #Kachingle, #Flattr oder auch nur #SMS-Billing für Einzelartikelkäufe umzusetzen!

I think it's big & established mainstream medias' unwillingness to rethink monetarization and do what most modern creators do:
Use better options like #Patreon, #Flattr, #Kachingle & Co.Even worse: #digital is usually offered at worse terms than #paper just out of spite:
I can buy a newspaper once and keep the copy ad-inifinitium but oftentimes they dark-pattern users into subscriptions that cost more than a print copy! -

Statt #Abos, #Paywall & #Loginwall sollten auch traditionelle Modelle Lösungen wie #Patreon, #Kachingle, #Flattr & Co. nutzen oder einen genauso bequemen #Einmalkauf anbieten wie die Printausgabe.
Also #digital konsequent billiger als #print mit der Option auf #Einzelkauf der #Artikel - natürlich alles #DRM-frei als #ePub & #PDF!
