Don't watch that many movies to be honest, but with all the sport on TV just now, the perfect opportunity presented itself to finally getting around to watching 'Fishermen's Friends', a film based on a group of local fishermen from Cornwall's Port Isaac, who form a folk group and sing sea shanties.
They have been performing locally since 1995, sign a record deal with Universal Music Group in March 2010.
Watching the film reminded me of visit to Port Isaac not long back and climbing up onto this high point overlooking the harbour for this jewel of a view.#england #cornwall #portisaac #fishermansfriends #docmartin #coast #landscape #photography

New release review: Mother's Pride

May Poseidon show me mercy, for I am starting a sea shanty singing group in my village (which happens to be very far from the sea, by English standards). I have no clue what I'm doing. I've never sung in a group let alone organised one. Entry qualifications are merely that you don't have to be able to sing but might fancy a pint afterwards. Over a dozen have signed up. Any tips or suggestions please?

Spent Saturday at an extremely muddy #WickhamFolkFestival. Great sets by #KathrynTickellAndTheDarkening and #FishermansFriends amongst others. But the highlight for me was the fantastic #NoGoodBoyo who despite being on very early in the day and confronting a slightly confused crowd in leafy Hampshire with their #WelshIndy, #AntiMonarchy and #AntiTory tracks, still managed to get them bouncing in the end
