I just feel it's worth congratulating #bristol council and #firstbus #firstgroup for managing to set the car park and bus fares at that precise point where it’s still cheaper for me to drive and park (not to mention massively more convenient) to get my family into town rather than getting the bus, which is presumably what they set out to do. Nice one.

Wow! #FirstBus have seriously messed up their mobile app with the latest update. So many people logged out or loosing tickets (sometime a £100 worth).
The UI changes increase the amount of scrolling, mix tickets up by type, remove colour coding of ticket types, and make buying tickets difficult by having filters and payment in an unintuitive interface.
The reviews on the App Store are scathing. Hopefully someone reads them and will fix the mess.

Spotted a broken link on the first bus Glasgow website. Thought I'd try and report it. Can't find in their contact us is a place to do this.Just nasty trees of options with no option for things not on their lists of course...
Tried filling in their website feedback form instead and the form DOESN'T SUBMIT from my phone.

@jamesh We have a similar but different scandal brewing in #Norwich #Norfolk #England: #FirstBus are fining people who tap-in but don't take a paper ticket to hold for their journey, even if they show proof of payment and the tapped card; and people who are incorrectly allowed to board by showing a season ticket without ID to the driver, if they don't have the specific linked ID with them. Local MPs are involved and say it's difficult enough to get people to use buses without this hostility

A warning/reminder to anyone who uses #FirstBus #Glasgow services - the 1 week and 4 week (monthly) passes are increasing in price by a substantial amount Tomorrow - Sunday 4th of Aug 2024.
If you have the financial ability you can buy passes at current price on the app and keep them in the wallet of app for up to 1 year before activation.
I have been able to buy 2 x 4week pass ahead of time.
Saying that my existing pass expires in 2 days so I am only really buying 1 extra one. -

The peak of Wi-Fi quality on Scottish public transport was a few years ago. There was a time when Wi-Fi on trains and buses was fairly reliable and now it almost never works... #Wi-Fi #PublicTransport #ScotRail #FirstBus

#cambridge is the destination, flight to #StanstedAirport , going is easy, will return in 2 days, hopefully in return Stansted will not be as crowded as before otherwise I will start buying fast track security thing 8 pounds and the bus from #Glasgow to airport is 16£ with return, sometimes I say this is better than lockdown sometimes I feel my age 😄 so many mixed feelings

Credit where it's due. #FirstBus is deleting my account because I haven't used it for just over a year.
Makes a change from random services I signed up to 12 years ago suddenly emailing me with an "important announcement" (which is nothing of the sort), or increasingly to let me know that they have hacked.
However, they lose points on centre-justifying the entire email.

Bristol's buses are among the worst in the country for arriving on time - and they've been getting worse for years. First Bus also cancel 1,450 buses a week - described ‘the apparent collapse of Bristol’s public transport system’ by Bristol West MP, Thangam Debonnaire.
