Film ten jednak, mimo świetnej obsady, im bliżej końcowi tym bardziej chylił się ku nieznośnej idealizacji, a scenariusz sprawiał wrażenie napisanego od linijki. Więcej było tu woman hero, właścicielki WaPo i jej rozterek na polu przyjacielskim, aniżeli samego dziennikarstwa czy konfliktu media-państwo. W tym sensie film nie był takim, jakiego się spodziewałem i jakiego bym oczekiwał.
