I’m working on some ideas for a little adventure booklet for the #FeywildWest setting that my friends and I have had in our #dnd game.

Part of me really wants to create a brothel to lean into the theme and tropes. I’d call it Madame Trebuchet’s where, if anyone’s being a slimeball they get magically ejected and thrown out onto the streets… with or without their clothes.

Had a player who was quite new to #ttrpg and she had a great time!

I’m a fun twist, she actually ended up with the big moral decision at the end. Made a good one, I think.

Everything came together pretty nicely and I’m excited to think of what kinds of schemes I can come up with next.

I have seven interested players. So the plot becomes obvious: The Magnificent Seven!

Setting up the overall arc and then I’ll start digging into encounter specifics. Going to leverage the #DC20 system. It’ll be my first time setting up something from scratch there instead of using the pre-built one shot. Interested fo see how it plays out. Especially with so many players!

When I started my #ShadowsOfEvermore campaign I was aiming for horror and intrigue. A year in the #FeyWildWest kinda threw that off a bit.

Last night I got to run a one-shot in Evermore that was all about those horror vibes and thus was I filled with joy.

Weirdly, I don’t like horror films. But horror in my cooperative storytelling? Yes please!

So after a long series of #FeywildWest adventures, we decided it was a great opportunity to finally take some downtime!

I have a tendency to run my games where it’s very go-go-go with lots of events leading into each other, but I really like taking a chance to slow down and focus on more solo character growth.

This last week in #ShadowsOfEvermore, the players finally left the #FeywildWest after a 9-month in-real-life stint. When they time warped 4 months in-game, it was far less impressive and actually a bit underwhelming since it just seemed to be catching things up to how long it all felt it should have been. 😅

My next #dnd session in the #FeywildWest will include the players trying to thwart a train heist.

To prepare myself, rather than writing out a sequence of events or something like that, I wrote a short narrative of the bandits planning their heist.

It’s a small thing that the players will never see, but it sparks joy.

Last night’s #dnd was great fun. An old enemy learned a dangerous secret—empowering a moonstone can be done at the cost of a Druid’s life.

The party Druid knew this secret, but no one else did. When he got wind of the enemy’s plans, he sprung into action while the rest of the party was confused why he was so panicked.

It was an awesome callback to events near the very beginning of the campaign.

Four months ago, she told me about these creatures appearing in a nightmare she had. I couldn’t resist making them a reality. I took notes, drew up a stat block, and waited four long months for them to go into the desert and fail enough wisdom saves for the creatures to manifest.

And don’t worry; she was fine with me unleashing these things upon her again. She was just impressed that I had remembered when she hadn’t.

It’s been three weeks but I finally got to play #dnd with my main group last night. I went a little hard on the exposition for the desert in the #FeywildWest. It was very exciting getting to play again.

With the way things are going I may kill them before they complete their quest, though. #whoops

See, my group in the #FeywildWest doesn’t realize that when they finally get out of there, they’re going through a time warp and at this rate over two months will have passed…

So I needed to get a second group for a story arc on the royal assassination plot that’s happening in the meantime.

This is the importance of having a #dnd #sidepiece.

So, turns out a series of scheduling conflicts will mean that my #FeywildWest escapades won’t be happening for three weeks. Big sad on that, as I was excited to get closer to some campaign bombshells.

I’m excited for next week’s #dnd adventure. My players will be entering the feywild desert—an expanse where the essence of thirst will be made manifest and hunt them down to drain the liquid from their bodies.

I’m planning on having them run into some merchants in a covered wagon, probably some more wild displacer hounds, and the dangers of the unsettling sun causing some trouble.
