A judge on Wednesday ordered the federal Bureau of Prisons #FBP to transfer 2 #transgender women inmates back to federal women’s prisons after they had been sent to men’s facilities in the wake of #Trump’s #ExecutiveOrder that truncated transgender protections.

TIL about "fixed book pricing (FBP), a policy adopted by many EU countries, designed to discourage discount pricing of books. It works by restricting physical and online stores from selling newly released #books below the recommended retail price for a period between 6 to 18 months. #Australia had its own #FBP scheme until it was abolished in 1972."

i'm adding my first new feature to #fbp since inheriting the project, a system clock that sits on the keyboard statusline, and i'm using the C time library because there isn't a good one in the zig standard library. for whatever reason, it works just fine with optimizations off (-Doptimize=Debug) but spits out garbage time values when optimizations are on (-Doptimize=ReleaseFast). this is gonna be a pain to figure out
-
another zig release, you know what that means... upgrading the #fbp codebase to 0.13. hooray!
-
New #fbp features include but are not limited to:
- Migrated codebase from Zig 0.9.1 to 0.12
- Switched from freetype to stb_truetype (Thanks to a fantastic contribution!)
- Touch drag gestures
- Keyboard colors now configurableLikewise for #f_scripts:
- f_*: update device specific logic
- f_youtube: migrate from youtube-dl to yt-dlp
- f_phone: migrate from pinephone-call-audio to callaudiod
- f_audio: switch to pulseaudioShamelessly copied from git changelogs. Sue me.

Announcing the release of #fbp and #f_scripts 0.6! This marks the first #framebufferphone releases in almost 2 years, and I'm so proud of the amount of learning that went into these releases. I'm picking up where Miles Alan left off in order to create the ultimate framebuffer-based UI for #MobileLinux. Packaging should be making its way into #pmOS/#Alpinelinux soon (tm), and I've created a PR to get this UI option merged into #Danctnix Arch ARM.

i'd like to synchronize the releases of #fbp and #f_scripts 0.6, but i first need to finish overhauling the f_scripts audio stack in f_audio and f_phone. once those items are done, i think i'll be able to switch to #framebufferphone as my daily driver UI!

@zensaiyuki @natecull Sounds like the isolated interpreters that Tcl, some Schemes, Lua and now Python have, if you add a bus for them to find each other over. As others point out further down, that could be the "vat" of an object capability system.
Could also be the components of a Flow-Based Programming system.

Above is, I believe, the first fediverse post about #userland by @hisham_hm .
To help me and others find it again in the future, UserLand is almost, but not entirely, different from #termkit . It's also somewhat vaguely related to #fbp #flowbasedprogramming in a #shell -like context (Hisham does refer to it as an integrated #dataflow environment). It's also not entirely unrelated to #spreadsheet ways of programming.
The original birdsite conversation is also available at nitter.net/pchapuis/status/118… and the repo for the project is at github.com/hishamhm/userland . The project uses #love2d/#löve in #lua . -
@liaizon Past tense, from a strict professional perspective. But I have a great fondness for it and several of my personal ambitions will lead back to it.
This week I'm working on a Racket #lang fbp(0) for fractalide just because I was annoyed during my fosdem presentation that it doesn't have one. 😀
