Cam Pedersen just released a small rust library to programatically create CAD models campedersen.com/vcad #vcad
I asked gemini to use #f3d to generate screenshots of the result, and tasked it to create a 3D model of a 'square-ish basket', looking at the vcad README for examples. The first output was not great, with flying handles, etc., so I said "look at the picture, and check what is wrong". It figured out the issues, and generated this.
Next: "build a complete robot for me, pretty please!"

Would you consider a hardware project #opensource if the 3D file source is an #f3d file?

#F3D is fast and minimalist #3D #viewer It supports many file formats, from digital content to scientific datasets (including #glTF, #USD, STL, #STEP, PLY, OBJ, #FBX, Alembic), can show animations and support thumbnails and many rendering and texturing options including real time physically based rendering and raytracing. #opensource #CAD

The case designs of Dummifier is done after all revisions, all thanks to Ender Piyale and Kazim Kaba from MechIstanbul. They are now being printed!
First batch, 50 units!

@MaryPot @bgrier @domr @3dprinting I’m not sure what are all the limitations of the “Personal” option of #Fusion360 - the one I know is that you cannot have more than 10 editable designs at the same time, which is perfectly fine for me. I just make them read-only after I’m done.
I also export each design as #f3d file to have a local copy and as #3mf file to use in Prusa Slicer.
Hope this helps.
