#Synty claim their assets work in Godot, but in fact they do not. The #fbx files import without textures and with textures for every LOD it would take days if not weeks to fix that. So stay away from Synty if you are using Godot and/or Blender.
They even provide a city pack that actually works to create the impression using the assets packs in Godot is no problem, because third party websites like @GameFromScratch make videos showing how easy this is. If you contact support you get evasive answers.
The fact that they ignore open source game engines and Blender, the software that was used in creating an Oscar winner, speaks volumes. I have no idea why a company would choose to ignore FOSS software in 2025 and a time where many people struggle financially so FOSS is a more than reasonable option.

So I went through all that trouble finding out how to get a #fbx (without using #Blender or #CATS plugin - despite how good it may be)
to realize:

* limited uploads
* displays #static models (not sure if I could embed an #animation
* sigh

Is there a reasonably easy way to take these #FBX model files and strip away, in batch, arbitrary stuff? Creators, timestamps, nodes of the wrong type like cameras and lights, and paths for textures?

A question for #Godot #GameDev
I'm looking information about getting 3d characters for a project I want to try, and I noticed that there's like a thing with #FBX and #GLTF and that it's like you can use one, but the other is recommended, but the other is more popular, but the other is open source, but the exporter in Mixamo works with the other and I'm starting to run around in circles as everything around me catches fire.
So what do you use? Where do you get your assets? Need help with this 🫠
